Yeppers ..... I use FireBird. The predecessor of FireFox. It has been great for debugging WebPages. IE assumes a lot, so you don't see the code-monkey F**k-ups in IE.
Mozilla Firefox - Brand Name FAQ
Why change the name?
To avoid overlap. The colloquial name "Firebird" is also in use by another open source project. While we don't believe our use of the Firebird name infringed on their trademark, we wanted to be responsive to the concerns of fellow open source developers.

Our UNIX Systems Engineers really talk it up and I have been meaning to give it a try. I am playing with it now and its pretty cool. Very light browser. Might have to keep it around for a while.

I have been using it for a couple of weeks now. Its like Netscape, with all the useless crap. I now browse with IE through our "regular" firewall, and if I am blocked at something, I pull up Firefox, which I keep configured to a "special" firewall that isn't filtered to get what I want.
Plus, no annoying pop-up flash ads in Firefox, because I don't install the plugin. :D

Its got some really cool features you can add on. I downloaded a theme that makes it look like IE. There is some cool ad blocking plugins where you can right click on an add and block it... done deal. I got some other download manager stuff and so on. I really like it.

Firefox on Windows XP
Seeing a lot reports about Windows error messages when clicking a bookmark or link in email. I think this is generated by link handling if you're switching the default browser away from IE to Firefox 0.9. It isn't (or rather, wasn't) an issue with previous Firefox builds. I checked the and they say the fix is to switch back to IE6 - which does work - but it doesn't seem like much of a solution.
If you're getting error messages when launching Firefox 0.9 from a bookmark or link, you probably need to disable DDE for that registered file type.
To disable DDE, access My Computer and select Tools > Folder Options > File Types. Select the registered file types that show (NONE) for their extention and seem to be web related. Start with Internet Shortcut. Highlight it and select Advanced. In the advanced config, highlight Open and select Edit. Remove the checkmark next to Use DDE.
Repeat this for other extentions as needed, perhaps URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol and URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy, at a minimum. You may want to come back for the FTP, Mailto, etc if you continue to get error messages.
*********
Firebird has never really handled URL links to media files very well for me. But that's the only issue I've had with Firebird. FTP is a different story.

I installed Firefox when IE on this machine (my laptop) took a dump, and I"m gonna reimage soon. It's okay, but a few things get messed up (like the smiley lists on the right of the editor are all messed up and unusable). :(

Sounds like you have OS issues... I doubt its OS related, as it happens identically on 3 separate machines, all running XP Pro, and each one does the same thing (see the screenshot) in the smilies box, and only when the window is as you see it; it seems to work fine with a full-screen browser window. And the "Post Icons" section is really messed up on the laptop, as well.

This machine and my desktop run 1280x1024, my laptop runs 1024x768. Need any more info?

Something else must be in common on the 3 machines, Tex. Any shareware/freeware installed across all 3?

All three use AntiVir for antivirus, Spybot: S&D for spyware, Trillian for IM duties. They all also use Sun's Java platform, since M$ pulled the plug on their Java. Beyond that, they all use Pro with SP1, and they all have different video subsystems with the appropriate drivers.
Another commonality is that this is the ONLY forum I have these issue with--NO OTHER forum software (and vBulletin is one of 'em) causes this problem. And I *still* have the display issues with certain forum posts losing the text and such. :(

Scroll down to the bottom of this thread.
In the bottom left corner is a drop down to change the "Style" you use.
I got the same type of screen as you until I changed to the "Blue-Liquid-Style".

That's where all this started, with Blue Liquid and post displays... now, on this machine FF is fine with BLS... we'll see on the others.
