I"m going to trade in my Z71 and get me a lightning. I live in Grand Prairie. Does anyone know of a dealership that has a good deal on a new L? I'd like a True Blue or a Silver one brand new. Any info would be appreciated.

I know of two dealerships that will deal on what they have in stock. Right now, you should be easily able to do a deal for $29250-29500 on a new L off the lot. They've all been sitting there due to the economic downturn.

Bill Utter up in Denton will definately deal with you. Go see Bill Hesters in Internet sales. Tell him Logan sent you.

I've also heard Payton Wright in grapevine is offering $3k off MSRP...

If you want a slightly used black one, my 2500 mile 02 L is sitting on the used lot at John Eagle Lincoln Mercury in Dallas.

Rumor? Uh no. Ford did a press release on the 03L like a month ago. I posted it on this board...

any pictures of the '03 I'd like to see one in the dark grey charcoal and to see what the new wheels look like

The shadow gray can be seen on the 02 Harley truck, 02 Mustangs or Taurus.

The wheels look like this:

Logan, considering you have purchased "numerous Lightning's" :crying: are you on a commission plan or something  how is that HotRod Lincoln?

I wish... I should be on commission.

I love the Marauder. It's pretty tight. I've switched to 4.10 gears and am running a fairly hot chip now, which fixed it's relatively limp performance. It now runs quite nicely.

I need to take it to a track to find out how good it goes. Stock, it's good for a high 14 second quarter. With the chip and gears, it should be running a low 14 second quarter or high 13 if I'm lucky.

I went to Don Davis in Arlington today and they have a black '02 for 32k and said that they could match any offer. I really want a silver one though. I guess I need to call Payton Wright. I tried looking on the internet at their stock but couldnt find the lightnings. Oh get this.... Don Davis also has a used '01 with 32k miles on it that they said they will sell for 29,500. Are they smokin crack or what?

five star ford has a new red one also for 32k and willing to beat any deal, and they have a used 01 black for 26k I think they can go lower on the used one.

I work for SBC as well and just bought an '02 White L from Bankston Ford in Frisco. They dealt X-plan terms with no problem.

Email grovesd@autonation.com - that's Doug Groves, the Internet Sales Mgr. Ask for Steve Hammonds for your sales associate. They were both a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended!

I was just there to get my plates last Friday and saw a new batch of Lightnings. Looked like they had four: two red, one black, one true blue.

I was initially shopping for a silver one myself but couldn't find one. Steve told me that a multi-state regional search of dealer inventory revealed only two silvers, one in Oklahoma and the other in Houston. That was about four weeks ago, though. Good luck!

Can I ask what you X-plan price was? On an '02 of course, right?

$29,270 + TTL

That's on a new '02 with no extra options. Practically invoice price.

thanks for the info jcandrews. but I noticed that you said yours was "without any options" isn't the only option the bed cover?
and it seems that autonation is giving the best deals right now. I saw on the website that they were offering 2000 off msrp plus the x plan would be a very good deal i'm not sure what invoice is on a lightning though. (I went to edmunds but couldnt find what I was looking for and kbb.com same result)

New year L's are generally out in Late Nov-Dec. I do the dealer hop ups for Bankston so if you want a fully built, financed, L or -03 Cobra get with Denise or Ford and they will hook it up crazy style. From 14" Brembo's, bed covers, filter kits, shifters, exhaust etc..:tu:

You're quite right about the soft tonneau cover being the only option from Ford, but I've seen several instances of dealer-installed options, such as a Retrax bed cover.

Use this link to get invoice from Edmunds:

http://www.edmunds.com/new/2002/ford/f150svtlightning/2drregularcab2wdflaresidesb54l8cylsc4a/prices.html

You can refine that price further by clicking the "Price with Options" button on that page; it lets you get an adjustment for region and color.

Where did you find the $2000 discount from AutoNation? I checked their website but didn't see it. I know Ford is doing $2500 incentives on standard F-150s right now, but the Lightning is excluded. I'd be very surprised if AutoNation were willing to combine a $2000 discount with an X-plan deal on a Lightning or anything else. They'd have to take a significant loss.

Hope this helps!

I went to Payton Wright and they have the L listed at 32500 and quoted me an internet price of 30500 it said "save $2000" I went back to the site and the Lightning isnt in the inventory anymore. what I did was "search for vehicle" and then found a lightning then sent them an email and they emailed me back an online price quote anyway they might not combine the two but I'd still be happy getting one for 29k.
