October 1 - October 3 ( Fall Thunder in the Southwest Regional On Track Event )http://svtoa.com/images/spacer.gifIt will soon be Fall and the leaves will begin turning, but that does not mean the need for speed has ended. Quite to the contrary, it is time to store up to get you through the winter!

This year the Central Region of SVTOA will hold its annual On Track Event, or need for speed, at Texas World Speedway (http://www.texasworldspeedway.com/) in College Station, Texas, October 1-3. The challenging 2.9 mile road course will satisfy anyone’s desire to see just what their car or truck can do with them driving it.

SVTOA’s lead instructor, Jeff Lacina, and his band of talented and dedicated instructors will be there to help you learn how to get the most out of your own vehicle through a comprehensive ground school and in car instruction. So even if you have never been to track event before, or you have driven the wheels off your ride, whether you're a novice or track junky, this event is for you. Don’t miss out on the fun, come satisfy that need for speed. Register early, as this event WILL sell out!

:rll: Now I remember why I lost interest. I have actually road raced there before in a Mustang and it was loads of fun, but the cost was significantly less.

Any one interested in RR should join Nasatx or join the Porsche club at the Mineral ring or TWS. A lot of track time for little money.

I think yer math is off.

$250 + 75 + 75 + 40 + 15 = $455 And this is without the SVTOA fee, which is ONLY for those who are NOT already members (and memberships are calendar year). And the BBQ is included in the two-day price.

So, at most, you might be paying $495 plus taxes, fuel, and extra items.

THat said, Driver's Edge has an event at Motorsport Ranch September 11-12... the actual cost is $247.50 thru the SVTTexas club discount. Thread is here http://forums.svttexas.com/showthread.php?p=67224#post67224.

I'd say that's a good alternative... ;)

You must be using the Pentium P60 with the divide-by-zero error, then.. because MS Calculator, my pencil, and my TI-89 all three come up with higher numbers. ;)
