Another year has passed

and we're all a little older.

Last summer felt hotter

and winter seems much colder.

I rack my brain for happy thoughts,

to put down on my pad,

But lots of things that come to mind

that make me kind of sad.

There was a time not long ago

when life was quite a blast.

Now I fully understand

about "Living in the Past"

We used to go to weddings,

football games and lunches.

Now we go to funeral homes,

and after-funeral brunches.

We used to have hangovers,

from parties that were wild.

Now we suffer body aches

and while the night away.

We used to go out dining,

and couldn't get our fill

Now we ask for doggie bags,

come home and take a pill

We used to often travel

to places near and far.

Now we get sore asses

from riding in the car.

We used to go out shopping

for new clothing at the Mall

But, now we never bother...

all the sizes are too small.

We used to go to nightclubs

and drink a little booze.

Now we stay at home at night

and watch the evening news.

That, my friend is how life is,

and now my tale is told.

So, enjoy each day and live it up...

before you're too damned old!

I resemble that remark... :crying: I still party ........
Maybe not as much, but jeez .... staying home to watch the news!! NOT!

"Too little time and so much to do ........ "

Every week should be a learning experience. If that doesn't happen, you become stagnant in your life and work.

Get out there and DO something (Legal) that improves the gray matter and your life in general. :ron: You getting this, Ronald!!??

Can't take credit, I think one of the guys in the Porsche club wrote it.
and just let it be noted that I don't think I resemble that poem either, even though I'm leaving my real wild days.
Not sharing my ex-roommates/girlfriends experiences(like someone else we know). I might have good stories and pictures, but that would take talking to and believing an "older" guy;)

That poem has been around for a good while. I got a email last year with it. But whats scary is im only 20 and im pretty much described perfectly in that poem. Well atleast my weekday nights, the weekend is a different story.

Keep working hard while your young, and then when you get my age you can have some real fun, and actually afford it.

Great poem Mark. Thanks for sharing that.

Rocks:cool:
