I had the chance to ride in a 911 turbo this weekend:tu:

I thought the L's were quick but this thing is evil wicked. Nothing unsettled the suspension and felt like we were on rails through corners taking them 50 to 80 over posted on deserted FM roads in northern Denton county.:d

Any idea what these bad boys are rated at? (HP/TORQUE)
What about cost?

Just curious.

I got a dude in a 911 T to run against me on the freeway one night. I hung about 4 cars behind him for a long time and I thought I was doing good, until about 130 he shifted into 6th and blew a freakin huge flame out of his exhaust. I quickly proceeded to the nearest exit ramp as I got stomped like there was no tomorrow.

And as for you kids, don't try driving that fast at home. :tu:

Just proves that it's near impossible to compete against deep wallets. :)

What year 911 turbo?
There are some really fast '79(last of the light wt. cars) and '89(only old body style with a 5 speed) models in the local P club.

HP and Torque vary tremendously with turbo size and intercoolers.

500/500 is not uncommon and the older cars are <3500 lbs.

Excellent '79s can be had for less than $40K

Almost bought a good stock black '89 three years ago for $32K from a guy in the colony.
I just couldn't stand to think that it was going to cost $2.5K to fix the air conditioner, and it needed tires, and then I would change the turbo and intercooler ~10K and then, and then. So I bought the L.

Porsche purists claim the '97 Turbo S as the most desirable model. That was the last year for the air-cooled engine. They are currently trading in the $120,000-135,000 range. Not bad for a car that was about $100,000 new in '97.:burnout:

I guess I'm not a Porsche purist then(even though I've been a PCA member for 17 years) '79 last of the lightweight cars.

I like the 94 3.6 turbo the best it was the last of the single air cooled cars and it also was the last rear wheel drive turbo cars but the new 02 GT2 out does that car all the turbos are great cars just a little expensive to maintain
