The cars here are what Austraila get's instead of that awesome car we get - the Taurus. Actually this site seems to be the SVT people in Australia. Let's get that stuff over here!
I found these after seeing Day 10 of Garrett's New Zealand trip. Hey Garrett, I went to the MX track with your uncle (Scott) yesterday. He's going to be a jumper soon!

these things have ratings in kW, instead of Hp. One of the Falcons had 350kW, which translates to 469 hp. pretty nice!

I don't think I ever posted these up, specifically. I went to the dealer one rainy afternoon and got some pics. These cars are beasts. BTW, They actually have 388.6 HP...

Did anyone catch the fact that this was not only a 5.4 but a DUAL OVERHEAD CAM 5.4 liter similar to the 4.6 dual overhead cam motor in the cobras. Imagine how much more hp the 5.4 could make if the 4.6 in the cobra is putting out 390hp vs the L's 380hp.
Hhhhmmmmm...Tommy struggles to put on his math cap (it has been a long time since college).
Two different ways to calculate but they are close.
1.....5.4/4.6=1.17x more motor so 380hpx1.17=446hp by my calculations
2.....390hp/4.6ltr=84.78hp per ltr so 5.4x84.78=458hp.
Either way we would be looking at high 12 qtr mile times from a stock L.
Why can't the new 2006 L have a motor like that?

Machined aluminum push button start...cool
Ok so correct me if im wrong here then..
Unblown
4.6l DOHC Mach I = 305hp vs. Aussies 5.4L DOHC 388.8hp an 83.8hp difference on .8 more ltr thats 66.3hp per ltr vs. 72hp per ltr on the aussie's 5.4. NOW in closer contrast the (american not aussie) Lincoln's Navigator 5.4l 32 valve cranks out 300 mad horses (cammed and tuned for a truck not a sports car..but still). Thats 55.5 hp per ltr. 16.5hp per ltr difference than the aussies 5.4l or........................
American emmisions decreases our motors outputs by 16.5% vs. Austrailia's emmision standards. ??? I dont know.
hehe sorry guys I just thought i'de spit out some useless stuff....not sure how accurate all that is if at all. But 388 raw motor then blown would be stupid fast knana
Damn emmisions
Heres some more food. Check out http://www.hsv.com.au/cars/vy2/default.htm This is chevrolet's Aussie brand they have a GTO and a 402 LS1 in a GTO looking Body. so...
So that an 305hp American LS1 vs. an Aussie 405hp LS1 55hp diff..... J/K

I don't think emissions have a whole lot to do with it. I think it's more an issue of "market perception", economy, and insurance pressures. Unfortunately, we end up suffering from said misperceptions. :(
