I haven't been to the track and it's killing me, so I believe i'm taking it to Denton on Friday. My cousin also wants to see what i've got because he was running that 10.17, and said there was an L running 10.30's.....weeeee anyone wanna go? i know these won't be the best times due to heat and humidity but it's still gotta be fun.

I think i've got my tips down....rear tires at 25 psi, OD off, a/c off, should i do anythign to the front psi?

A bunch of us from SVTTexas are going to be there. I'm in a blue '04 Mach. Look for a big group of SVTs.

I was there with Sayle and Tim back in... I think it was March. My best was a 8.702. It was alot cooler then too. But I don't think you should have a problem getting below 9. I left the front tires alone, dropped the back to around 28, and left the o/d on. You're going to have it floored. On the 1/8 mile track you won't be going fast enough to have it shift into od.

So, how many people are going to be going Friday? If a lot of people confirm, I will probably go. I really want to see where I conpare to other Lightnings.

There is a chance I'll make an appearance tonight... I'm not gonna run tho cause I don't have my traction bars on...

any last second pointers, how much gas should i take in there, i'm about half a tank now...-20-40 miles to ge there, so i'll be little more than a quarter of a tank, empty bed, i'm leaving hardtop/tailgate/spare on....gonna drop the rear tires to 25 psi...gonna try a run with a burnout in the water first run and stomp it...i'm sure the next few runs i'll be rolling into it after i spin em nasty and run an 11 on the first one. lol See ya out there, i'm leaving here between 6:30-7, so i'll be there by 7:30ish, not sure how long i'm going to stay but I'll be there.

Hopefully you were kidding, but do not do a burnout in the waterbox tonight, at all.
Pull around the box and get straight, then back up just in front of the waterbox and powerbrake it. If you do a burnout on radials in the waterbox, you are asking to piss the track crew off because of the water you are going to throw around.
When you get to the line and stage, bring your RPM's up to just over 1K and try to cut a good light.

LOL yes I mean with water on them, i heard to try it both ways, but I hear more of your kind telling me to avoid the water. I'll try the launch from an idle first, then play with rpm, 1100 a good starter I assume. I'll let you guys know.

Go around the water and take that damn hard top off.

Your probably already at the track, but as they are saying...KEEP THOSE F1's out of DA WATERING HOE.....the water will get slung up in your wheel wells and stay in your tread....making for a very slippery launch.

Thanks for coming out, Dru, and thanks for asking questions.

A silver (pewter?) SRT-10 was out there after Dru left. The best I saw it run was 9.29. Dru ran a best of 9.19 in his bone stock L, which equaled my two best runs of the night in a bone stock Mach that weighs 1000 lbs less. Gotta love the L.

It seems like you could do donuts in the water box at Denton and they wouldn't notice. Every idiot out there was driving through it. Not that it mattered, they sprayed so much water in there it was impossible to drive around it. They aren't really on the ball there. They were pairing up 5 second cars with imports. Not to mention all the kids speeding around on those little motorcycles in the pits. I guess someone's going to have to get hurt before they start enforcing the rules. :crying:

I had a blast, yeah the 2 runs I had of 9.19...i'm really wanting a pulley and chip..hmmm lol those 8's were looking mighty sexy. ;) Maybe next time when i'm modded i'll take off the top/spare...hehe, i'll find the slips tomorrow I think my best 60 ft was 2.15 and best reaction was .602, first time at the track ever, good stuff. I met another L owner, forgot his name (silver 02) with a 4#,chip, filter...he said he's running 8.1'sish..Let the modding begin. haha
