Post details on when the car show is supposed to start/end, pricing and what time the bikini contest is :D ! I'll probably do both. Plus I got my video camera mount, so I'm all set to go!

Also, find out if your buddy can hook me up on a deal for a Clarion SRK5 center channel speaker. I can get one for about $85 (most places charge $160). If he can beat that I'll take one off his hands.

So from the look of it, those of us tht are going to the car show will be leaving there at about 4:30-5:00. Plenty of time to get to the track. Those that are nearby should meet there and roll with us. Everyone else, I suggest meeting at the track, and park in an open spot in the staging area so we can go as a group. I plan on going ASAP when I get there so I can capture some good video in good light, so I'll be there near the time they open the gates.

10 to 12 vehicles at a time with pace trucks in front and rear to keep it at a respectable speed- usually about 75 to 80

Sand bag it a little and you can get some decent blasts-just be cool:cool:

No special gear required, just yourself (you can have a rider too), your truck and $25 for 3 laps. They do offer a pic of your vehicle in the winner's circle for an additional $15 or $20 (I can't remember). Most of the guys take their cameras and snap pics going around the track from inside the cab. Here's one of mine from the last trip...

http://www.svtgalleries.net/gallery/data/500/26DCP_2039-med.jpg

If you want, I'm sure one of the guys with rider will be willing to snap a pic if they are by your side.

This time around I'm mounting the video camera to pull footage from all laps as I run, plus I'll be snapping pics with my digital cam.

Well, as few of us showed up. Wasn't nearly as fun as a few of the last times we came out because of some restrictions that were put on us, but it was still a damn good time. Here's a few pics and one video of Jacob making a flyby. My in-cab video exceeded the file size limits placed on us by the Internet overlord :d , so I'm going to have to go abck a resize it so I can upload it here.

Jake, if you want all of the footage, I'll burn you a mini-CD with all of it. I don't have anywhere where I can upload a file of that size.

Hey Tom,

That in the cab video is pretty cool stuff. Have you done any like that while drag racing?

One other question.....you said they put some extra rules on you at the speedway. What kind of rules? I am guessing that one of them involves not passing.

The biggest reason i don't go to these is the rules...LOL. I can get on central and do 120 going towards Mckinney. Sh!t...if I am on a race track, I would want to max it out and hold for 3 laps....not get stuck behind some dip sh!t doing 90.

I haven't been to the track for drag racing since I got the camera mount, so I don't have any passes on video. I plan to record my next passes down the track, though.

As far as rules this time...single file and no passing were the two big ones. Last time we went out side-by-side...this time single file. We probably could have gotten away with some passing and whatnot, but none of us tried it. Hopefully next time will be a little better. I would like for them to allow us to go balls out on all three laps, but I figure there is a huge liability with that. Oh well, at least I can say that I have been on the track!

Jumping into the dip-**** and jack ass conversation -

Rocks - Since you werent there you dont know what the situation was. The rules stated that you MUST keep up with the person in front AND you MUST go single file - NO passing - and the MAX speed was 75 ... All this was controlled by a pace car and about 6 TMS trucks who were running shotgun ....

Anyone who went outside these rules will ruin the 3 laps for the entire run group ... Which is what happened in the run group I was in.... Someone who shall remain nameless sandbagged and slingshotted around one of the corners and got caught - one of the pace trucks pulled in front of him and slowed to about 60 ....

But its still a great time for a good cause.. Thanks to Tom there is video of my truck on the high banks of TMS.

In summary - Just because you are on the track at TMS doesnt mean you can run laps at 140 .... But it makes for great conversation on the internet

Well come help me get these trucks done and we'll get down with itknana . I talked to Jim and he said if he has the engine together he'll bring it. If not (probably not) he'll bring it to the next event..
I can bring it back from the Illinoise(LOL) event also.....Just let me know.

I'd love to help you...but I am having back troubles:twitch: .......I am hoping that the party girls can fix it for me:D .
