well im a little pissed off, but I guess this is normal if you dont have a bra... but just recently I had my hood painted along with all my ground effects and my bumper redone...
well when I washed the truck last weekend, i noticed 2-3 small rock chips on the front... made me very upset.... they are hardly noticable, but you know when you wash your truck u notice every little thing.... anyway, i wanna put something on them to make sure they dont peel and get any bigger.... would one of those small touch up pens work??? any suggestions?

I went to the dealer and got one of the little bottles of paint that has the small brush attached to the lid. I fix small chips by filling the area with paint using the brush. This may take several coats. Just use a little at a time and be patient. Be sure to allow the paint to dry between coats. When the area is full I use Maguires (sp) scratch X, scratch remover to smooth it out. It's not body shop perfect but it fills small chips very well.

I have had my hood for a while now, so get used to it. There are more to come. A sharpie is your best friend.

Black + wax= all rock chips will appear! Its the only reason i hate black. But 3m makes a black wax that works nicely. I have been using it for years on all my black cars.

My new black 99 has a few small chips that are showing up since I have had it washed and waxed.

I just had my 04 come out of the paint shop to fix a bunch of scratches and chips. I was going down loop-12 at about 6:45 a.m. when a city flat bed truck hit a bump and threw a huge piece of dried up mud on the road. well it broke apart and happened to hit my truck. hmm, getting the hood, grille and bumper fixed after only having the truck a month. They all did come out after touch up paint and a good buffing.

Dupli-Color has a new touch up bottle (2-in-1) that has a ball point pen on the cap that does a nice job for the chips vs. using the brush. Seen them at most of the parts stores as well as WallyMart
