More or less outta the blue, a company up in Cranberry Township, PA that I did some DB modeling for about 3 years ago wants to fly me up there next week for an interview.
Damn, what a freakin' surprise!! Amazing how things happen.
Anyway, might be a 6-9 month contract with possible full employment.
Asked them what the weather was doing today ....... sunny and 70 degrees.:bows
Man!! I could handle that!!
And the best part about working up there? Hoagie sandwiches to DIE for. :tu:

If you are coming up here.. you HAD BETTER DAMN LET ME KNOW AND COME BY..We can cruise around here and you can see what its like..its really beautiful and the folks are nice.. not too many L's.. but a lot of old hot rod lovers up here. People find any excuse to get together and party.. There have been 4 days of 85 or over temps this summer.. 2 at 85, 1 at 86, and 1 at 90(July 4th) the low this morn was 57 and the high today 70.. the usual high in the summer is 78 :nana2 , of course it a little cooler in the winter :evil but we love the weather. First time I have enjoyed summer in years.

Mark,
I don't know if you've ever been an IT road-warrior, but I/we have been and it sucks!
Not trying to talk you out of it, but think long-and-hard about it.
We've witnessed 2 (almost 3) of my IT road-warrior friends' divorces b/c of only being around every other weekend.
Best of luck, either way.:tu:

I have done it too.. no fun, but its part of the job..
I put on about 300,000 frequent flyer miles in a 5 year period, mostly with American but some with Southworst. For a big boy like me those seats really sucked. After a while, you have so many miles, that it aint so bad getting the upgrades to 1st class and all. Plus vacations became a lot less expensive, airfare was virtually free. I still have over 100,000 miles left over.. good for one more 1st class trip to Hawaii knana .
Mark, Kim and I really look forward to having you over to the house.

Dana, They have made me a very respectable offer.
Health, Dental and 401k
Up to 30 days paid Corporate living
Paid moving from TX to PA.
It's all good except the salary. Only because I will be supporting 2 households (Mortgage, insurance, etc) for about a year.
They are very serious about getting me. So we will be negotiating a "contract" to hire for 9-12 months next week. I'll be a independant contractor for that time, then move up there as an employee.
Kinda like moding the L. The parts are falling together. :D
Plus, PA does reciprocate with TX on my RE license. Prolly will have to take their state exam. No biggie.
