Dont take it the wrong way, but that upgrade to 1000 hp is awfully tempting.. Not sure how you would get that to hook up though

If the upgrade to 690 is over $34K, I could only imagine what the twin turbo upgrade would cost. I'm guessing $80-100K  :rll: !

Add on top of that Henesseys reputation for ripping cutomers off. He is banned from attending VOA (Viper Owners Assoc) events as a vendor. There is a long long list of Viper and Corvette owners that have written him cash checks for hundreds of thousands with nothing in return. :throw:

Guys I don't know if that upgrade is worth $34 grand , but let me tell you I got some of the same things done to my Mustang and I did my own shopping around locally(USA Motorsports,Racing Superstore,SpeedTek) and mail order(Summit Racing,Jegs and number of Mustang part specialists) for the best price of an item and its pretty expensive when you add it all up. I paid $600 bucks just for JE 8:5.1 low comp pistons,(no rings,no rods)my block is mid level Sportsman and it was $1,100 add in a very long list of other must haves(Intake,Heads w/work,cam,Tbody,.injectors..etc and it ran over $10,000 for engine along, cheap after hours labor by Hans Fuestel Racing engines was $1,600 plus my SVO E-303 cam that I took out my 308ci just to do machine work and assemble short block. And I didn't get the big time things that Hennessey is offering for a jacked up price. Except for the outsourced Hans Fuestel work my car was built in a home garage by my crew chief. Man, its good to know people.

There was a write up in Autoweek about 2 years ago on his "business". Some of the cars that were "modded" were torn down and they still had original parts in them.

I wouldn't be suprised. There was a Viper guy on the Corvette forum that had a heck of a story. He shipped him a new GTS site unseen to have the ne at the time Venom 800 kit isntalled. This GTS was rare the the parts were very costly. Hennessy told him 8 thonths and 120K for this package. He sent him the car and a check for $120K. The 8months were up and the guy called on his car. He was stalled saying there was a titainium shortage and it was needed to make some of the parts. After three more months the owner sent his buddy by there to check on his car. It was stripped in back of the shop nothing had been done to the motor. Hennessey sold the GTS hood which goes for $12K from the dealer. The GTS wheels were gone. So the owner called and said he knows nothing had been done and what's up! Hennessey said he apologized but to make it up he would make his car the first Venom 1000. But the Venom 1000 would take another $25K in parts for the job. So the guy sent him another $25K check:hammer: . I think after two years he finally got a mild built car back.:Bullshit

Dang, that's expensive. I looked at a SRT-10 the other day and I did like a couple of things that I wish Ford had included. It has a finned aluminum rear end cover with drain/fill plugs. The leaf spring pack is enormous and the lowest one is this sorta front half-overload looking thing that functions as a traction device with a snubber. OH, and I'm jealous of the spark plug location.
