Buying a Lightning next month...

Hey guys, I'm new here, but I'm buying a 01 or 02 Lightning this next month. I'm a little wishy washy on either the color red or white. I used to have this stuff figured out when I was 17 or 18, but when it comes down to the wire I start having trouble deciding. I'm up for suggestions or opinions on the color decision! Thanks!

Silver white or black. silver is low maint and hides everything. white blend in and black is the ultimate bad ass color.

Well, the '01/'02 wheel selection is the only way to go in my book, but I originally wanted Sonic-Blue for my L. but those '03/'04 rims! :nono:

But, I happened across "Suzy" up North and have no regrets.

Red seems to have two very real problems........the first is that the cops just love to pick red out of the crowd. My daughter had a red car and she would get pulled over all the darned time. She dumped that car and moved into a Mustang 3 years ago. First a silver, now a Sonic Blue GT. She has been pulled over once in 3 years, and that was only for some lame crap about her having her head lights off early in the morning, so the cop could hit on her...LOL....no ticket.

I have also seen stats that showed red as being the most prone to accidents and theft, although admitidly, an arguable stat......but true none the less.


You'll love your L............either way.

Thanks for the suggestions. I had my current truck painted black 2 years ago, and I love it when it's clean and waxed, but keeping it that way is hard, and I swore I'd never buy another black vehicle again, but after looking at some black Lightnings, I have to say wow.

Black is very hard to keep clean, but nothing in life is easy...a little hard work never hurt anybody.

I swore off black too. As for white and red. Red is great looking and quick to get pulled over. White stays cool, but shows dirt and blackish runoff.

White is clean. Black is mean. Red is girly....unless your black out the wheels, tint the windows, lower the hell out of it, then you get a devilish looking blood sucking L. Kinda cool I guess. :evil

Black Is Mean and Beautiful! But:eek: HIGH Maintenance. Lots of work keeping Mutley looking Good. Silver is a Bad Ass color also. White is the easy color to keep.

The Cervinis 3" cowl hood would be the only hood I would replace the shaker with. Jeff AKA Alpine, let me know if you're ever up to it. ;)
