I haven't been on the NLOC or F150 boards in awhile, but has anyone else done this with their Gen II L. yet?

Let's see. Along the way it has;

burned somewhere around 6700 gallons of fuel
had 132 quarts of oil in it, 120 of which have been Mobil 1
made 50 or so passes down the 1/4 mile, with a best of 12.84
hauled 1100 lb. round bales of hay
hauled 1000 lbs. of concrete
been driven hundreds of miles on snow and/or ice
been air dam deep in mud
hauled dead deer, turkeys, coyotes, dove, quail, and even dead dogs
hauled ATV's
hauled a Tactical entry team
towed trailers with ATV's, deer blinds, riding mowers, cords of firewood, etc.

And it has never failed to get me where I needed to go. :tu:

It still runs pretty decent, too. :nana2

Think Ford would want to give me a new truck, since I've done such a thorough real-world durability test for them?

Congratulations! Just upload it like a regular pic then click on it and either copy shortcut of open it and copy the address. I think you use URL tags instead of IMG tags. It even got you home with 7 spark plugs one time:tu:. Don't forget to add the part about blazing through town and across the counties responding to BP's and shooting calls leaving the marked units behind:burnout: .

I'm compressed. I remember when we were running neck-and-neck on mileage. I'm at a measly 81K+ now. Awesome trucks I must say. And on behalf of FORD, thanks, but no thanks.

Brian,

Congrats on the 100K mark!

Have you ever thought about putting in an interior light bar in the L ? A friend of mine (Phil - aka 93Cobra on f150online) had this one mounted on his Red '99.

I wish I'd taken pics when we were in OH. of the same setup in his True Blue '02. Full siren setup, too. He's a Volunteer fireman, btw.

Hauled a Tactical team in the L, huh? Too cool! I saw two entry teams bust a Meth. lab at my apt. Those guys don't mess around.

Also, I'm thinking about an AR-15 build and giving my Mini-14 to my Dad. I'm considering a swappable flat-top upper setup with interchangable shorty bbl./full-floating tgt. bull-bbl. sort of like what you have.

I've been mousing around here : http://www.ar15.com/forums/board.html?b=3

Also, I have a few questions about Concealed Carry and TX/OK reciprocity.

I'll PM you.

Ronald

Ronald,

Yeah, I've thought about putting emergency equipment on it, but there are some issues with that.

Go for it on the AR. Much more versatile platform than the Mini, and the options are endless. AR15.com is a good resource for info.

When I first read the headline that is what I was thinking;
 $100,000

There was a thread on NLOC about how much some guys had in their trucks. WOW!!!! Some guys had over $30,000 plus the truck invested.

But to go fast=$$$$
and to GO REALLY FAST=$$$$$$$$$$ :eek2:

I wonder how much some of you guys have in your trucks at this point. Terry had one nice ride ($$$$) b4 he had to sell it and I never got to actually see it in person, just pics.

Holy Blamo's Batman, How are we going to fight that firepower?!?!?!?

Well Robin, 1st we never race a red lightning (unless we can identify Ronald cause he wont/cant race us right now anyways***momma has given him strict orders***), then we remember to put up the bullet proof shields on the batmobile.

:D And I got your back on those tickets, I have had my share of run-ins and tickets myself, my last 3 cost me over $1200 (imagine the mods i could have put on the L with those $$$) but at least I got out of them completely.

There are several trucks in HALO with more than 100K miles that also have been raced heavily.

i would imagine you're referring to Noel and your hubby which is a founding member,
I'm sure there're a few other that I'm not aware of.
Jarod has 120+K on original block and has acheived 11 sec passes.
You and Jarrod coming out to CCW tomorrow?

Congats, bro!!! I got 211,000 miles out of my '93 before i sold it. Ran great, burned about a half a quart of oil every 3,00 miles, and was in good enough shape to get me $7,000.00 for it. I only have 30,000 miles on my '02 now, but I'm sure I'll get a good price for it when I sell it (when the '06s come out). Any vehicle will last as long as you want it to if you take proper care of it.

Keep up the good work!!!http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/nana.gif

Yes, Jerrod and Noel are two of them. We won't be at CCW as we are in Austin this weekend. But in general I doubt we'll be at CCW due to it being on a Sunday and I have more than a 3hr drive to get back to Austin from HMP on a Sunday night. Maybe with it starting earlier it might be possible in the future we'll have to see how it goes. I miss racing. Neither Jerrod's or my lightning has been to the track in a while.
