From that angle is is reminscent of the old flareside F150s of the old bodystyle. Downright ugly truck IMO back then, and if Ford went back to that style they made a mistake. I'll reserve judgement on the new flareside until I see one in person.
If they did go back to the old flareside style, I hope that they don't make the Gen 3 in flareside.

I don't know, fom that angle it looks like a Titan with a Ford emblem on the gate.
I would like to see what it looks like in person as well.

I've seen them. I don't like them either. I like the much smoother and softer lines of the previous generation.

hmmm.. adding the bedcover and removing the tie downs make a world of difference. I still like the like the body lines of the previous generation better, but the gen 3 still looks better than any other model of the f150 for this generation.

I gotta admit I first thought they looked ok, not great but ok. But the square body style lends itself very well to modding, front air dams, wings, lower moldings, and roll pans. Some of the concept trucks from the auto shows in Truckin mag looked badass!!!!! I never cared for the rounded body styles that have been so popular since the first 2nd gen Taurus. Maybe why I like the look of the new Nissan models and the 300M. I also love the new caddies, very distinguishable fronts, no mistaking what is coming at you.
Kinda reminds me of my 82 Mustang GT with the huge squared off front air dam and the Marcal fog lights (same as the 79 pace cars). I think the only other gen3 pony to look as good from the front was the 93 Cobra and even then the front air dam was kinda angled up.

Neither pic did that much for me. The truck has too many angles on it for my taste. I like the curves on my '02.

Notice how similar the lines of the body panels are....
Just like the current generation they just made small mods and add a body kit to the bottom or the panels

Slick, I like it. Looks like a ford to me. The new L in the flare side will look mean I promise, something that may grow on you a little.
You cant beat the smooth lines of the gen II's but I've always liked the new edgy look, the new mustang takes on the same look with classic lines. Awsome.

they went from square body styles to more rounded body, and it was supposedly better aerodynamics, now they decided to go back to square cars...or maybe its "lets make it even more ugly every year!"
i dont get it

They had the gen3 at L-Fest last year. Pictures do that truck no justice. It is awesome in person. Hopefully they will have it there again this year.

Personally, I don't see Ford changing the Gen 3 from that body style.
The SVT team has always taken Ford "templates" and added to them.
And since the re-tooling has been done for body parts, I doubt that they will produce a "special" body design just for the new Gen 3 "L".
SVT is no more than the Retail "Performance" part of Ford. They use what they have and make it faster.

Yeah, I agree, it was really nice looking in person. Maybe it will be there again this year for any first timers to see in person.
