Besides dealership, where to get plugs changed?

I was thinking of tackling this myself, but I don't have all the tools at the moment and I've got a busy weekend ahead of me and this needs to be done ASAP. I'd probably do it myself if it could be done in about an hour, but everything I've read suggests about 3+ hours for your very first time. I need to do this to potentially avoid a plug spitting incident. Who in the Carrollton/Dallas area does this and at what cost? I've already got the plugs.

I decided to do it myself! I went out and got all the necessary tools and will tackle this myself tonight. Between plugs and miscellaneous swivels and extensions, I'm only out $40. Much cheaper than paying someone.

I'm thinking $100 would have probably been worth it at this point. I'm in about 2 hours and got 7 of 8 plugs out. Definitely the hardest plug change I've ever done.

I'm all finished. I had a lot of downs during the project, but I've got everything back together and running fine. It was definitely a learning experience. :vomit:

Congratulations, you have passed your Lightning initiation.
If you can do the plugs...fuel filters, oil changes, and brakes are all a piece of cake.

Suspension and exhaust changes are another story however :)

Honestly, I think the suspension stuff is pretty easy. It takes about as much time as most of you are saying a plug change takes, but you're in an open area where you can move around. I haven't tackled an L plug change in my 5 years of owning a Gen 2, but I cannot imagine sitting inside the engine compartment for 2.5-3 hours (which is where I'd be given I am 5'6" and have the short arms to go along with it). :tongue:

I am considering installing an Apten myself (along with the mandatory plug swap), but gosh Terry is pretty darn cheap. Apten wants $599 + shipping for a blower. Terry will get me one, install it and tune it for $650. The only other thing I'm out is the long-ass drive to D-ville and trying to bum a ride home from somebody.

MarkFuel filter is next. I'm still on the original and I just passed 20K on my truck this morning. I've heard the truck will likely "wake up" again after changing the filter. It already feels a little better after the plug change.
