Hey guys, I am waiting for my Lightning to get in from a Carmax dealership in TN, and I was wondering what to expect on gas mileage or miles between fill-ups. It's a 2002 with 10.000 miles, with no mods. Thanks

since the motor is broken in, you will get as good as possible. Doing mostly city driving, I am fortunate to get 13. Same with my '99 that I had for 4.5 years.

Alrighty, that's what I was expecting. I live in Sherman, and I drive to Mckinney and back every three days, so I figured it'll be half and half with city and highway. Does everyone just put premium in them or do some add the mid grade or regular octane then add a bottle of gas enhancer or something?

I've got a bone-stock '02 L and I've been hovering around the 11/12 mpg range and I just clicked over 24K miles.

OMFG. If I had managed to afford a L I wouldn't be able to put gas or tires on it. I'll stick with my 25 MPG Mach until funds become more available.

I drive to Dallas from Lewisville 4 days a week for work and I get 14/15 in my basically stock 01 L (gas light usually comes on at 290-300 miles).

I get 13 - 14 and always run 93. I once got 310 miles out of a tank but had to push it the last 20. http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

mine's an '01, and I usually get 14-15 city, 18-20 highway (for some reason, mine prefers to run at 85mph), and I have 44K on mine. It ain't bad, really, considering. ANd I use Sam's premium, because I have a card, and where I get the gas, it's not bad at all.

I'm sportin' a couple of those air-fresheners from my rear-view I failed to mention. You know...the old-school ones with the "nekky wimmenz" on them. knana
I'm thinking about going with some Yosemite Sam mud-flaps next month, too.:D
My long-term goal, though, is some one-off exhaust work. Here's what I sorta' have in mind:

I usually get 260-280 miles out of a tank and that's 95% city driving. On a few occasions where I have drive mostly highway - I've gotten as much as 310 miles on a tank. It's pretty rare though that I can cross 300 cause I can't keep my foot out of the pedal.

My light always comes on 305-320. On ave I am gassing up at 325-330. 15 mpg on average. My best was on a leaner tune and no pulley and gassed up at 360 miles once.:D

I usually get about 12-13mpg regardless of the type of driving. If I romp on it or baby it it is usually the same. But once coming home from Shreveport with cruise set at 74mph and not stopping once I got almost 16.
