Thanks Mom:tu:
Notes on the build:
She told me she wanted her L to look unique for L Fest and in general. She gave me the truck and a budget and free reign to do with. The only stipulation was I could not void her warranty (yet:evil ). So I chose to lower it, install a catback and throw some new shoes on it.
The lowering was achieved through Beltech 1.5" front coils and dearching the rear leafs 3". This is the most I wanted to go without sacraficing ride quality. To control the ride I chose the new KYB Monomax performance shocks they ride quite well and at $280 a set come in the middle price range of shocks.
The catback is standard issue Stainless Magnaflow mild system and chromed/stainless tips.
The Wheels are Boyd Smoothie 2's stock sizes and they are from Rob's old truck so we know they are FAST:tu: . I feel this combo fits this truck and owner very well. It was incredibly hard for me not to throw a chip and pulley on it but I obeyed her only rule. I really enjoyed driving it around, she gets a lot of attention:cool: Thank you!

Yeah, what he said. Whadda I know.....I'm just a stupid girl! And yes, I did tell him to do whatever he wanted to do to the truck. Kinda scary when you think about it.

Mind if I ask what happened to the stock wheels? I am still looking for at least 2 more 03/04 rims before L-Fest.

Besides the chromed OEM '02 wheels, those Boyd Coddington's are about the only other rim I'd throw on my L. :tu:
Hmm...another PR Mild exhaust system. :D
Lookin' good, Mom! :bows

:rll: :rll: I should know since my ex-wife was a clothes/shoe freak. Notice the "EX" part. That means lots of  and :burnout: .
I noticed you had posted over on NLOC looking for a place to chrome wheels.

Gee, I don't think my age has anything to do with it. :rll: Bought it from the Ford dealer in Feb 04. I haven't done anything special to it.

I really like the stance of the truck with that lowering set up. I used the KYB shocks on my 97 F150. I think I paid too much, alot more than the price you just mentioned.
So Terry.......I would not mind dropping my "high flyer" some more, but was worried about the affect on hook up at higher power levels. What are your thoughts on this?

Rocksknana Yeah the KYB's retail for 400 bucks. All I can say is GoRila runs 12's on dropped suspension. May be a freak thing though:D

I don't think it is necessarily a freak thing in the 12's. Alot of the Lightnings get into the 12's and even into elevens dropped.
It seems that most of the issues are starting up in the 600 and up H.P. range. I dunno......watching some of the 10 second L's that are showing up for FFW....it seems that hooking up with all that Torque and H.P. is an issue.
I guess I'll keep researching some solutions.
Thanks terry,
Rocks
