Innocent question - I have never even sat in a Viper ( for fear I wouldnt be able to get out ) BUT the dyno sheet shows that at 3200 RPMS BEFORE he rolls into the throttle he is sitting at 850 FTlbs of torque ?? As in cruising ?
The torque only goes up 100 ft lbs , but the HP goes up 450 ???
Is that normal ??

That is a charateristic of the V10 notorious torque monsters.

They are easier to get in and out of than a C4 Vette! (you can try mine if you want...might even let you take her for a spin Doug)
I saw the dyno sheets on VCA for that car, nothing but impressive!:bows
Imagine what traction challenges that would present, would love to have that problem. (need to finish the "bling" before adding the "Zing" to mine)
The fastest Viper I know of runs 8.93@150 MPH (2001 GTS Venom 1000 Twin Turbo):bows .... on the down side of that is the fact that to get numbers like that you will spend enough $$$ on the mods , that you could just about buy a new Lightning for the same cost;)
Wonder hoew long the clutch would last pushing those #'s???

Yep, those modded Vipers are crazy! If anyone gets the opportunity to ride/drive one, DO IT !!!:bows
That "Hennesied" Viper I rode in a while back and posted here on, we were doing approx. 50-60... then Ronnie revs up and dumps the clutch - we were at 130 (verified) in just 4 seconds or so.:eek2: Didn't "feel" that fast either.
Here's a ride-along vid. of the same yellow Viper from earlier. They pull a 60-110 blast and even lose traction from 60 !!! :eek2:

Here's another with the same Viper (blower only, no N2O) at the drag-strip running a 10.45 @ 143.3.

From what I can tell, this all takes place in the Bay Area of Cali. for the climatic side of the performance equation.

"Hungry" for those HP/TQ #s yet, Unsane? :tu:
