Does anyone know if stock lightning pads can be found at autozone? I'm kinda leary about paying dealership prices, and my truck is starting to sound like a 747 coming in for a rough landing.

Well, Autozone does have replacement pads...although I ended up returning my set for a refund. I bought their performance friction and think they suck. I could always smell them burning and they would fade pretty quickly...not to mention the amount of dust build up!

I switched to O'Reilly's and picked up the Wagner ThermoQuiet and like them a whole lot better. Minimal dust build up and takes longer to fade. Just my opinions

Oops, I just realized you have a Gen 2. In that case, scratch what I just said cause I have no idea!

Get the Carbon Metallics at Napa- better stopping and less dust than stock and a lifetime warranty (replace for free after you've cooked them):tu:

Front SKU #CMX7576
Rear SKU #CMX 7584

Just two cents from a mechanic. Spend the money for the factory pads. Lifetime warranty pads are very hard compound and tend to wear the rotors. By-in-large the rotors are more expensive than the pads. My opinion: allways use the factory parts when availible. Performance parts excluded.

I can get EBC performance pads or NAPA Ceramix. We all know I have been through some pads and rotors:D
Here are my stock pads at 8K miles for some reason they are flaking off in chunks???

Damn rotors cracked in half too. It felt weird through the pedal going over that full crack in the disk. Must have been a factory defect. They warrantied them but I went to the real brakes instead:tu:

Does anyone know why Brembo replacement pads are like 300 bucks for the fronts? It is more than worth it though:D

I take that crack about my brakes sounding like a 747 back. They sound more like that little plane that landed on 75 over by hooters in Plano.
