See Terry..
He is in Scotland- that would be a feat:rll:

The rearends on these trucks are very tough. I haven't heard of anyone tearing these things up period. It may be something else.

"a crunch as it changed gear under high revs"

At the gear change doesn't sound like the rear end. Is it at your 1st to 2nd shift or what? Transmission....torque reduction....hmmm !

it seemed to be like 3 to 4th,,,,,,,,wasnt looking at speedo but just after i no i was in the three dig numbers,
what i did was held the foot right down max,,never lifted when it did it,,,,
is this wrong ?? im unsure
like i say never had an auto before,,, probably me,

all other motors i have had i reley on the rev limiter and over boost to tell me change,

No, that doesn't sound normal. No, it doesn't sound like the rear end. No, you don't need to let off the gas when it shifts. No, you didn't do anything wrong to keep your foot in it with an automatic. At the shift point, it could be anything from a transmission problem to the suspension bottoming out or an exhaust part hitting.

It may be the torque reduction but I say it makes more of a blurp or farting sound. Under high throttle angle the computer shuts off 3 injectors for 4 tenths of a second to soften the appply. It makes a farting sound from the exhaust.

I have experienced years ago a broken motor mount which will cause the engine to tilt to one side, with the tourque of the engine, and when shifting into the next gear, it will drop down back into position with a loud thump. Take a look at your mounts (it's a possibility). Good Luck.
