Lightningfest FRS/GMRS radio shakedown

Well its time to do another road trip and I am in need of another GMRS radio. The last one I got was a Cobra brand, their top of the line radio which didnt work worth a piss. Complete waste. I wont put you guys through the whole :ron: on that one...

I need to get another radio and am trying to pick. Problem is, you really cant buy just one radio anymore. They all come in packs of two AND if you get the rechargeable versions the chager is one unit that charges both so I couldnt split the pair with someone else. I am looking at these radios:

The Uniden has a few more features but I am hesitant to go with anything other than a Motorola after I got that Cobra piece of sh1t!

What do you guys think? Anything else I should check out? Thoughts? Discussions? Whatever????

We have 2 Motorola Talkabouts that worked fine last year for the Topeka trip.

We can loan those out if interested.

I would just buy the cheapest one you can find.. most dont last worth a darned, so you will probably either lose it, break it or it will just die on you in the short run... been my experience anyway.

The biggest thing last year was a radio that would do the code along with the channel. We used channel 5 code 4. I had several talkabouts once upon a time and loan them out. I will see how many I can find.
