Now that the engine is here the project can move forward. Wes Strong is going to be the first TALON gen 2 in the 10's. We might as well throw a cage in it before it rolls out the door. I am very excited to get a project like this from a TALON member. I have had a Corvette customer give me a new car and blank check and they got one wicked ride in return. Now it is time for a Lightning to represent:tu: . As much as I hate to move Rob down the list his time has come. As for Terry Hogg we'll see if he can get it back on the track for any amount of time:evil . There will be more to come I need help finding a name for this project. I would also like to know if there is anyone that could hook up some custom paint when we are done. I am also going to work on the body to make a total badass truck.

Well Terry after my truck gets out of the shop I will swing by and show you what my painter can do. He is awsome and he does not rush anything. If you are interested his name is Jermey and he owns/works at Crashworkz in Krum it is about 10 miles west of Denton. I will let you see the job after it is done hopefully this week.:tu:

I have a buddy that I have told you about before. He has done several pro mod paint jobs that are pretty wicked. Let me know if you want to talk to him.

Very nice Terry. Hope you get it up and going soon.

About a painter, I can suggest Justin Pullin from Lindale. He is the guy who painted my Gen 2. He is also a Gen 2 owner. You can PM me for his # if you like.

You did a decent job of cracking up the stock block:tu: . Wasn't this about 90K miles or torture including a 3Krpm stall converter, Kenne Bell, long tubes, and a cold night:beer: . I will slap you and your close family if you ever let Speedwerks touch anything again:nono: . They only put two bolts back in the starter, two bolts in the A/C compressor. They re-uesd the steel shim exhaust gaskets and stock studs/nuts. Which made it a nightmare to get the headers off. Of course there were a few cross threaded bolts for additional grins. It took me 6 hours to get the headers off and 2 hours to get the engine out:bs . This will take much more than Crown and lasagna to smooth over! Here are some pics of your carnage.:evil

I grew up with the "owner" of speedworks, his name is Ryan Berry and he's only 19. He posts up on LS1tech all the time asking questions cause he is putting a 408 from Keith Craft with a TH 400 and a FR1 Pro charger 2000 silverado What gets me is he keeps, as well as all who work up there don't really know what they are doing. He posts up questions on installs, belt questions, etc. If I owned a performance shop, I would make sure I knew what I was doing.

They must like red Lightnings because another L owner has his L up there for a built motor, long tubes etc.. An expensive build they have been working on forever. He calls me weekly frustrated with their lack of knowledge/progress :rll: . If they can get it running he is going to bring it down for me to straighten out:hammer: .

Ive seen them blow a F150 and a mustang up on the Dyno or immediately after.

The Mustang failed as soon as they started it to drive it off the rollers and the F150 was a roush running a old school kenne bell that blew up on a test run on 121 - 2 minutes after leaving the rollers... It left a BIG oil slick on 121.... :throw:

Any projections as to when this beast will be on the streets Terry? :beer:I have been waiting on the UPS girl to bring some essential ingredients. They came today so I will start going back together tomorrow. I look at it and want to spend three of four days cleaning this filthy piece:vomit: . It depresses me and I don't want the grime to reflect upon my workmanship in a negative way you know.. That and Wes needs to pay me a visit again:D . I think it will be ready for a test fire and break in driving next week. Then a few more stages of mods, then a little more tuning. More test miles, clean and dress items, final dyno tune and delivery.

I strained my back throwing around bags of concrete this weekend so today was a slow progress day. I had to bust out some old pain pills to get out of the house:beer: . Anyway, I got the 60# injectors installed and the lower intake on. I set the KB on for effect:tu: . It won't be long before mayhem nowknana .http://www.svtgalleries.net/gallery/data/500/15CIMG1367-med.JPG

Well the beast came to life shortly before 10pm Saturday. I have a nice idle clip of her but I can't figure out how to post it convert it to mpg or such from AVI it is 15Meg.:hammer: . I went to crank the bitch off and the starter was hanging up! A little investigation found that one of the blown rods popped the case of the starter. A new starter and she make a mean roar:tu:

Run a smaller resolution Ron if your Commador 64 can do so:rll: . I have movie maker but it saves in a mswmm format.

Well it has been one hell of a rush but the truck made it through its first dyno session without issue. I set the part throttle and safe wot A/F sloping from 12.0-11.6 on the top. I need larger pulleys I am only getting 15psi with a 4# lower and 3" upper:hammer: . This biatch idles HP 462rwhp at 5200 rpm with 13psi and 12' timing:evil . Our next pull at 15 psi with 3 more degrees of timing yielded 50 more hp across the boardknana . Still fat, still safe I haven't done near enough setup to make it fast yet. We'll go play with it Saturday and see what falls off of this heap:D .

Make sure you mention that the highest pull was cut off at 42XX RPM's ....I think that run would have yielded a lot more HP if pulled further into the RPM range.

Need a smaller upper and an 8lb lower......I'm ona mission now :burnout:

Yeah today wasn't about peak #'s I was more concerned with timing and A/F settings.
