How does the PR valve body compare to the factory tech 2c valve body? Do they have similar shifting characteristics? I have the PR valve body in my truck and I was just curious.

We use the same parts from the same distributors except mine is 100 bucks cheaper:tu: .

I have ridden in a couple of trucks with the FTVB 2c's lately and they definitely shift a lot firmer on all shifts than my pr valve body. Mine is still firmer than stock but,can my PR valve body be adjusted/changed with a different line mod valve/springs to shift more firmly? I like that 1 to 2 gear scratch of the 2c a lot! Mine has never done the 1 to 2 scratch like the 2c.

If not it won't bark because the torque reduction is still on.

I have a SCT-6600 4 bank chip. I am checking on the tune's to find out about the torque reduction.

How much is your valve body Terry?

How much is your valve body Terry? My VB is $150, Hey Tommy won't your truck grab 2nd with your stock VB? I thought it did.
A few guys dropped by the shop today Stormshadow and BC Lightning both of there trucks step sideways into 2nd, and Adam's will step out into third. Take off your spare tire and hitch and it will chirp:D . I don't know how healthy your intermediate clutches are. They are what control the 1-2 shift apply some older trannys don't grab second hard. I would check trans pressure/slip timing in the tune and modify it there. Anymore spring in the accumulator will jack up shift calibration.

YES!!!!!! It will.....LOVE IT!!!!!!!   What is most fun is dropping the hammer at about 30mph and her downshifting, breaking the tires loose and wailing thru 2nd and then chirping 3rd.
But I am worried about playing with the tranny's shifting thru the comp and not mechanically so I have been running my stock tune most of the time (daily driving).
So I wanted to do the VB mod for tranny life. I know you will have to adjust my SCT tunes but I plan on another couple of mods at the same time as the VB so you will only have to retune once.
Give me about 2 weeks to get the fundages up and I will call you with the other stuff I want done.

There you go Steve a bone stock VB / tranny going sideways in 2nd and barking 3rd. It is all in the tune and condition of the transmission. Aggie Mom's truck grabs second with just an SCT nothing else, no pulley no filter kit. Tommy come by anytime and I will step down the shift firmness. Like you I much rather do it mechanically than electronically.

Mine will chirp Second at 2/3 throttle but not full throttle --
But who knows - I heard a crazy person built the trans....

I am suprised it is still going, lol. I was amazed Carmax took your tranny in trade it had a horrible slide, slop shift 1-2 without a chip in it. Without the VB springs it would not shift much at all:eek: . You need to slap that SCT in there you can do a lot with trans settings:tu:

With the SCT tuner and Terry Cole VB mine chirps the tires in second gear, and at full throttle into third it gets sideways :tu:

You need to learn me some about it - all I have is the default program from them and JDM says that they arent great programs

There are a few evil transmissions out there. On Saturday I had to give a Lightning salute and got sideways on the 1-2 and the 2-3 shifts. I love trying to keep her straight on a two lane road with no curbs :burnout:
I'm not sure what valve body is in this tranny (PR or FT). All I know is whichever it is, it is badass. Terry, I'm sure you know what's in there.

You think I'd put a FT in one of my trannies http://www.svtgalleries.net/gallery/data/500/226454.gif

OK, OK...my bad. I wasn't sure, but should have known better. One demerit for me. :evil

Don't forget the tires, put some nice high mileage Toyo Proxies on there and she'll chirp in any gear shift. Terry just did mine and I get chirps at half throttle... of course the filter and 4lb'er help a little too.
