Is there any easy trick to installing the bung for these things? ro do you have to drill and weld in the trans pan.

To be the most accurate you would mount it in the pan. The instructions say to mount it in the pressure test port. This is the easiest way it is plugged on the drivers side of the tranny. Just remove the plug and screw in the probe.

Ahhhh, your so smart Terry. So would it be worth mounting it in the pan? or just go ahead and plug it in the pressure test port? How inaccurate will the test port be?
And im pretty sure the instructions say to to mount drill and weld the bung (which is includded) in the pan. Autometer Trans temp.

I put mine in the pan, where it belongs. Easier isn't always better;) .

Im with you rocks, I'll wait to get a larger pan and have it put in the pan. What good is it using a guage thats not accurate.

The instructions do reference the test port in case you are doubting that. I have mounted a lot of them in the test port and they do respond to temps accurately. The test port gets a fresh supply of fluid right off the pump output. I only drill and tap the heavy aluminum pans like B&M. I don't like messing with the steel pans.

Well if your confident with the test port I'll give it a try. Thanks Terry.
