This is the last 1/4 mile event for this series, with the final event at Redline Raceway on the 31st. This would be a great time to come out and get some decent racing in before the Talon Fall Classic. Rocks is bringing the grill, I'm bringing the drinks, Dennis is bringing out both the Gen 1 and the Gen 2 (right Dennis??)
Oh, and with Dennis in first place, and with me in second in our classes, we could use all the help we can get to knock out some of the competition....:tu:

I may just have to swing by for this one. I haven't seen Rocks and Dennis since LFest. However, I will need ya'lls help in the staging lanes. I don't wanna go up against True Blue Aggie in the first round and put him out :evil

I was planning to bring the grille and hamburger patties. We need volunteers for buns, tomatoes, onions. Maybe some chips and some cheep arse cookies. Maybe Cathy can make some homemade cookies....since she's a girl and all:o ......:evil .

I have catsup, mustard...and paper plates left over from L-Fest. The Miricle whip didn't make the trip home:vomit: . After sitting in the sun for 8 hours, I thought maybe the garbage was a good place for it.

Let's try to have a big turn out Talon.............how about it folks?

Gates open at 8, so plan to be there about then or a little after. Sign up is when you get there, and if you plan to run better than 13.99 in the 1/4 you will need a helmet. I believe they have a few to loan, so it should not be an issue. Or one of the other guys can loan you one. They will be a little more strict on this than Kennedale will be since it is a competitive event.

I am going to be there. Who do I need to talk to to get a TALON window sticker before then??? I would like to look like I actually "belong" Ha, Ha, Ha.
I am going to try and get some slicks though my street tires just :burnout: !!!!!! Last time I went to Kennedale I used my spare tire rim off my L and my 4X4 with some old drag radials left over from my Trans Am(26" diameter). It looked rediculas. I really wouldn't want to bring it out looking stupid! How ever it did hook o.k.

True Blue Aggie
10-21-2004, 10:06 AM
Ahh...Sandman, I had already edited the date to the correct one. Good try though...

I will be at the gates at 8:00am sharp. I want to get setup and cooled down before the first time trials (roughly 9-9:30). I did note the last time I was out at Ennis that our parking "spot" is now completely enclosed where no cars can get into it, so we are banished to park with the rest of the pit people.

We need some more people to come out Sunday. Where is Mike and Bobby? If Scott shows up and you don't....I'll never let you hear the end of that! :nono:

Hey all,

I have been out of pocket the past few days. If everyone is up to the burger thing, like I said before, I can bring some meat and the grille. I also already have Ketchup and mustard, but we need some kind of commitment from some folks on bringing some buns, chips and maybe tomatoes and onions. I also have cheese.

I don't think anyone missed too much today. It was a long day due to fog delays (I will upload a good picture later looking down the track. You can't see the time signs) and then persistant drizzle. It was 4pm before we got both time trials and one run in and there was a big storm moving that way in about an hour.

Most of us were eliminated first round. Only two made it to the second, and only one was staying for the second round.

However, Bluto did set a personal best this morning, so it was all good.

I havent seen ny rain yet ... Did get some bad gas at the gas station though ... Filled up - truck went about 150 feet and died.. Crank crank start run 10 seconds die .. Push into the parking lot - Thank god for new battery. Must have picked up some water in the gas... Seems to be running better now... Bought some STP to help break up the water ....

Anyway Had a good time at the track - Weather sucked but had some fun BS'ing anyway - I think Cathy took a shot at my as she was driving off but I dont know for sure...

HOpe no one got caught in the speed trap in Wilmer - They had 2 cops on each side of 45 pulling people over

I took a few pictures of today - Ill Post them later

True Blue Aggie

Well....I made it to the semi-finals and lost. The minute I pulled up, I changed the slicks out, and as I was closing the tailgate, the rain started. Took a couple of minutes, but then the bottom fell out.
The event did not get to finish the finals.....they will run them at Redline next week.
After everyone left, they started hotlapping the drivers that won. Needless to say, I lost because of wheelspin when I shifted to second. The only thing I can think of is I drifted to the left after the start, and hit some of the water that was on the track....oh well.
Never had any hail on the way home (sorry about scaring you Ron, but Tobbun can vouch for what the weather radar was showing us), but there was enough rain to have standing water on 45 in Ferris. There were three accidents on the way home.....stupid a$$ drivers.

The good news for me is that the guy in first place went out in the semis also....so I am three points out of first place. So guess where I will be next Sunday???? Redline Raceway...........

Fun day even though I would have liked to made it a couple of more rounds. Flats Man's Gen I is finally starting to live up to its potential with the slicks, converter, and new gears. No appologies needed Michael. I appreciated the heads up on the possibility of hail. I would rather be safe than sorry on that issue. Two years ago, hail did about 23k in damage to three of my cars and my house. I am a bit nervous now about this little weather phenomenom(sp?).

WA2, I saw at the bottom of your message that you also have an '02 Z06. Maybe you've seen my husband's '02 electron blue Z06 around Allen (it's not a daily driver, so it's not out much). It also has the Lingenfelter headers, and he's added a C5R rear facia and C5R hood (well, the hood will be finished in a couple of weeks). Did you get your work done at 21st Century? Thanks for the warm welcome. I've got to figure out how to use all the cool features you have in this forum so I can get pics posted.

I'm not much of a cookie maker, so I reckon I'll leave that to the professionals :) I do like to race though - what a rush!

God, I love that car!
My Z06 is also EB, not a daily driver, but certainly could be. I've got ~10k miles on it in the 3 years I've owned it... going in for a LPE Stage 2 TT upgrade soon (~580+rwhp). Yes, 21CMC did the work. I prefer to turn my own wrenches, but they do great work, and of course LPE doesn't sell the kit to DIYers. I'm sure I've seen your husband's car. I attend church out in Lucas, and have passed several EB Z's out that way before. Actually, there are quite a few EB Z's in and around Allen. Here's mine. Looks stock except for the Fikse FM5 wheels. His will look awesome with the rear fascia and hood! :)
