Looks like my company has ran out of work and there were lay offs today. The company is likely to go out of business. Well, unfortunately I am one of the higher paid electricians in the field so I was one of them. I am going to take a little time off to find another job, so If anyone is in need of any electrical work, I will have some time to do it. I need to get my Masters license and just do it for myself so this wont happen to me again. It wont be hard finding another employer, it just sucks starting over.
Jeff.

It sucks to be in seasonal trades. Construction slows in the winter just like the A/C business. I got laid off just over a year ago Oct. 8th 2003. It has been one of the hardest and most humbling years of my life. I have had to step out of two Lightnings and a Corvette just to keep the business dream running. I would check Mills, Walker, etc for a position. It will be hard to get a job until next spring honestly:( . Maybe you could look into Mcbride for a service job. Or you could go to Iraq for $90K a year tax free minimum:eek: . Time to get the woman another job:rll: . Also a good time to relocate maybe:twitch:

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I have allready had two job offers making the same money. I am going to keep looking this week for something a little more. If I cant find a little more money, I will just take one of my other offers. Electrical work is easy to find with a license and experience. Sorry Terry, as much as you want me to relocate, I will still be here to give you some crap.:evil

Also, I am going to try and get Adam to hook me up at SBC. Adam, you paying attention bro. Hook me up!

do you have your journeymans liscense already? i know if you have an electrical background that it wouldnt be hard to get into a nice company like fedex ground. im sure if you can do 3-phase you could probably handle motor controls and such, it makes you a perfect higher in the maintenance divisions of many companies.

do you have your journeymans liscense already? Yes, I will check out Fedex. I do mostly 3 phase commercial work so tht would be perfect. Thanks for the info Gaven.

go here (http://img2.photobucket.com/albums/v111/texarcana/1800%20Meadow%20Ranch/) for a virtual tour... and it'll be closer to 2000sf--the parking pad that it'll be built next to is 50ft x 25ft, and there is between 40 and 70 feet between the edge of the pad and the property line. :d PLENTY of space for a killer shop!! And the prices for shop buildings is less than I was originally figuring, so getting what I want is more likely. :evil
