I never appreciated the capabilities of mobile navigation before:bows . Do you guys have any idea how much these systems cost:eek: . I looked on ebay and they go for over a grand and retail around $1750:eek2: . That is just for the Alpine nav unit. You still need a head unit with or add external screen for viewing it which is another grand easy and a few expansion boxes etc... Dayum.. Anyway, I was looking for a radio tower in the middle of nowhere and couldn't find it. Then I remembered hey David has enough electronics in this truck to put Car Toys to shame. So I fired it up and directly entered the GPS coordinates I had. The Nav unit plotted the fastest route and 10 minutes later it led me to the tower to the inch:bows .

They arent cheap, thats for sure.
I plan on going with the Kenwood or Eclipse Double DIN units myself. Most likely the Eclipse, as everything is built into one unit. No extra boxes for mounting and taking up space.

Tim- Logan had the new Pioneer AVEC?? (sp) He said it was nice and cheaper than most others. His was a touch screen head unit.
Both the C6 andCTS/V have GM's built in navigation the C6 is touch screen.

Terry, I use one in my tour bus, it's an Alpine unit, it's the best I'v ever seen. works off a lap top or dvd, I have the DVD it's faster then the laptop. It does a lot more then most. the screan about 5inch x 6inch . I got it mounted in a back pack so I can take it from bus to bus. It suppose to be hard mounted. Got it two years ago on sale $ 2600.00 it was $3200.00. It is the best one out there. I'll bring it today.

I agree with winterhawk, Alpine makes a very nice product for navigation. Off topic, Winterhawk what color is your L, I see a red one every sunday morning on the way to or from breakfast at Joes Coffee shop. We try to make it there every other sunday. I drive a black 99 incase you see me and not sure who it is.

Mine came standard in the Acura and I have added a module to be able to play DVD movies on it. So the nav runs in the background while we are driving and watching flicks.. knana
I will say this, without it, I would still be in Pittsburgh today trying to find my way out. I was there a few months ago...
