Temple Academy Dragway Lightning Event

[Temple Academy]

Just wanted to see if anyone here would be interested in us putting on an all Lightning event, or if you want an all Ford event. We have been looking into doing something like this over the winter, possibly in January or February. Let me know what you would like to see and we will do our best to put on a great event for you. We will pool all of the ideas and see if we can put together something that everyone will enjoy.

I think that a full on Lightning event would be great. However, I think most of our group here is from the metroplex area and that would be a very long trip to make. I came down to little river once with my Trans AM and it was a long drive for me and I am from Whitney. If the prize was big enough and we could work out some deals with the local hotels there could be a very good showing!!! Thats my opinion (for what it's worth)

We've been thinking about finding a location for a Texas Lightning shootout, but most of our guys would prefer the 1/4 mile distance. The location isn't bad for the Houston, Austin/San Antonio, Dallas clubs, but I don't know if an 1/8th mile track would draw well enough. My $.02. :cool:

The Last time I was at Temple Acadamy(Little River) it was 1/4 mile. Not much shut down room!!!!!!

guys....Houston (HALO club) and austin/waco guys are wanting to do a shootout with you guys, and temple is the location of choice (central to all)

if we show enough enthusiasm towards this event, you'll likely see more lightnings than FFW...

P.S.S also--temple is a 1/4 mile track. that's some good bracket racing there!

I grew up in College Station, and used to run my Mustang at Little River all the time. I have always enjoyed running there. That track has a lot of character, plus its an IHRA sanctioned track (at least it was), so you can run up to 11.50's or so without a cage, and not get booted.

If it garners enough interest, it'd be a lot of fun. The drive's not that far from DFW, maybe 20-30 minutes further than Hallsville....if that.
