Our Discount Tire on Great Southwest Pkwy is making an excellent effort to stock tires for our trucks! In order for this to work we need to buy them up. Discount stores pay the Discount Warehouse on tires they have in stock. They cannot afford us our good discounts if we let the tires set for a long time. I guess this is why you rarely find tires in stock anywhere. I was up there today and Brent has:
8-Nitto 555ZR 295.45.18 street rubber. $190 each
4-Nitto 555R 305.45.18 drag radials. $225 each
2-MT 26.10.50/16 ET Streets $185 each

I have a good feeling that once I get the truck running right I will need some 305's soon. The ones that I have are almost gone but not yet.

Another couple thou on the F1's and I will be getting a set of Nitto's from them. They are at 4/32 even after L-fest which included 3 open track sessions and about 12 drag strip passes (with light burnouts). I will probably get about 28,000 miles out of them.

Discount Tire did a super job mounting my old tires on my powdercoated wheels. The store manager asked if I could wait for his best guy to finish another job. :hammer: Of course, I said yes!

Terry, thanks for the hook up with these guys.

I can vouch for that. My buddy gets tires real cheap, but ntb beat that price, mounted, balanced, and gave me a warranty on all 4 tires for less. The guy up there is pretty cool and works with you as much as possible.

There's always someone cheaper, not always better. We are likely to lose our hookup if we start chasing around town for a few bucks. This Discount is the only store I know that will mount/dismount custom wheels for cheap even if you didn't buy from them. Most stores with any sense won't touch an HRE they didn't sell. No tire change fee could cover messing up a $1500 wheel.

my bro called and talk to hugo? they will do what wever it takes to get you in and it appears they have been doing it for a while, but you could be right about messing up a rim but what insurance is for .

Also on the dfwstangs thing, they don't do Nittos and the guy is un-responsive. I'd rather get a marginally good deal that's local and reliable.

Not to mention that some of his "hookup" prices are higher than you can get them for from Discount
