Terry,

Got a sound question for you. I noticed a ticking on the passenger side the other day after a high speed run through the country. It sounded like an exhaust leak, so yesterday I retightened the shorty headers and all joints in my silver bullet set up. But the sound is still there  .

It sounds like a sticky lifter or old mechanical fuel injection, but when I put it in gear with a load the ticking quites down some? Any ideas? Could this be a plug getting ready to go :hammer: ??

Thanks,
David

An exhaust leak or plug should get louder in gear or under load. If the gasket is damaged tightening the bolts won't fix it. A plug usually won't make noise a few days/hours before launching. Getting quieter in gear is throwing my guess off. If you have already checked the headers for signs of leaking I would definately check the plugs asap.

Terry it's Juan again, about the strange sound my L is making. Sounds like DWSmooth and I have the same problem. I was thinking if it is an injector problem, could it have been caused by using 87 fuel instead of the usual 93. I went to out of town a few weeks back and tried to save a buck or two so I used 87 octane. When I got back I noticed the sound :( . I don't use it much now because I am affraid that it will get worse and I haven't had a chance to take it to you, but I will be there Friday morning.

Terry,

When are you available to do a plug change on the beast? Also, what is the address of your new shop (only been to your old one in Grandberry).
