View Full Version : Dyno Numbers?

I have a friend out here in Florida that is getting some interesting dyno readings. We could use some of the Gen 2 expertise on this board to figure out what this truck should read in both HP and torque. He has one dyno at about 425 RWHP done by a shop that did a lot of work and a bunch of other dyno's that show about 370 RWHP after that! Here are his mods:

"Fred-4#Steeda pulley,C&L intake, Accufab132mm Throttle body,Razors Edge ported Plenum, JBA Headers,Magnaflow Cat Back,Plasma Ignition Boost,Denso Irridium @) plugs, Diablo Revolution Custom Chip,Volante cold air box. This is what's on the truck now. Appreciate the help. Rev Extreme said the air - fuel should be right around 11.8 to 1. Right now it's running right at 11-1. See Ya. Thanks Mike"

I can get the year on the truck but it is newer than 2001. What is a good set of numbers on this truck properly tuned? Thanks for your input!

A 4# pulley chip n filter truck should run about 375-395hp, 430-470tq depending on the tune. It sounds like the shop that 'did a lot of work' on the truck fudged the correction factor on the dyno pulls. 425 out of a pulley and filter truck is hard to swallow.:bs

Hey Terry, I just got his exact numbers. I am trying to get a copy of the Dyno too. His Dyno sheet said that he had 427 RWHP and 536 lbs of torque! I understand some of the ways that RWHP can be manipulated, I assume you can do the same with torque?

Best I ever saw was 410 - 500 with 4# pulley

I'd say Terry is about right for the average truck with those mods. A good tune with the same mods should be pushing 400 rwhp.

My best dyno with a 4# was 415/511 (Swanson). :cool:

Best I ever saw was 410 - 500 with 4# pulley
