....take this da*n motor to get the valves changed on it. I live in the country....this is redneck country out here. I can't find anyone with the proper tools to change them out. The heads are bolted to the block. I need someone to air the cylinders up and change these springs. I will carry it to Dallas if necesary. That is all I need to keep me from installing it. Who do I need to carry it to and what is the #......help.:(

I've got a 60 gallon air compressor and air chuck attachment for threading into a spark plug hole and a valve spring compressor and a garage, but I would not be able to lend a hand, but you can borrow my garage all day Thursday if you want. I live near Doug...
The spark plug threader thing has *ONLY* been used on a Chevy LS1, as well as the valve spring compressor - I have not a clue if it will work on the L motor.... you supply the parts, I'll supply the air and garage at least...
Lemme know if you need it.

I may take you up on that....is the threads the same on the LS1 and Lightning heads??? I have a shop with the compressor, etc..., EXCEPT the valve spring tools. No one around here has them. You have to have 2 special tools to change the springs correctly on a over head cammed motor. I have the part #s, but can't order them cause the are on serious backorder.
I know a Ford dealership in Dallas will have these tools, but may not let me borrow them. Maybe they will do them for me.....but what dealership?

Part # 303-382

Dunno if the thread size is the same or not, but you can borrow the air chuck spark plug threader thing if ya need. I don't think my valve spring compressor will work - but maybe use what the Cobra guys are using ? corral.net ...

Give Rob a call I am sure he can assist you in this. Also he will be much cheaper than a dealer service dept!
