I am trying to gauge the best course of action. I can pick up a fresh drum 54gal for the event. I am not sure what they have at the track or how much it is. I am going to be under the gun for the Hallsville trip. My brother is graduating UT Friday night in Austin so I will be driving a lot. The fuel is here and it is up $.50 cents from three months ago.. $6 a gal. $20 for a clear 5 gal race cans.

They sell race fuel at the track BUT be careful

Last time we went we told them we were coming and requested unleaded and told them how much we would need and we were stuck

They had like 8 gallons of unleaded and a bunch of leaded

I would buy it from Terry before you go

Put me down for 10 gallons as well Terry, I'll hold you gas can hostage till we meet again :evil

Also, will you have time to install the upper ported plenium, Metco lower trak links, M20 Blinders, Interchangable upper pulley, and the SCT Mass air the week after thanksgiving?

Can someone post why you would need race fuel for your tunes / trucks? My truck is setup to run on 93 oct., but I am interested in knowing what I might need to do to get it to run on race fuel.

Higher octane allows you to run more timing (=more hp) safely.

And if you have a race tune with more timing you run it at the track with the higher octane (SCT holds 4 tunes--stock, cold weather, warm, race) (thanks to Terry!)

I hope you bastards buy a lot of fuel. I ordered two more drums so I will have over 100 gallons out there or 10 gal for 10 trucks. I figured other L clubs may need some as well. It is still the same price of 6 bucks a gallon. I can get clear fuel jugs for 20 a piece.

You bringing out the drums or gas cans? I have a 5 gallon container, but don't know if I'm going to be able to get down to the shop before the event (plus, I'm looking for 10 gallons). It would be best for me if you brought it, but I'll work it as you need it.

Terry, If you need someone to haul one or both of those, let me know. You all know my truck can carry alot of weight and the bed will never be pristine (it is a work truck!). 2 drums of fuel would be nothin!

I will probably bring three drums and a few cans to transfer it with.

We may need to get a "dibs" list started!

I got a call from the distributor the fuel should be here tomorrow. Unfortunately it has gone up 20 bucks a drum. $6 a gal for this batch. That will help limit my burden of transporting it across Texas:tu:

Terry,

Just want to make sure you have 10 gallons of 104 with my name on it for tomorrow. If my calculations are right, I should be rolling into Hallsville with the light on, so I need to be sure I've got some fuel waiting for me when I get there.

Lemme know!

:tu: Just wanted to be sure. You can service 10 trucks at 10 gallons each. I just want to be sure I'm one of those 10.

I just did the math and if I get to the track with my light on, thats 5 gallons of 93... it would take 10gallons of 104 to = 100octane right???

I thanks those who shared jugs and funnels to distribute the race fuel. I only emptied one drum though despite your concerns about not having enough. Sold @ 60 gallons out of 108 so there is plenty left for those who need some locally for racing and dyno testing race tunes.:tu:
