Well,
TALON has their Hallsville '04 photographer(s) on station! I forgot my camera charger this weekend, but Mom's overnighting it to me and I should have it Wed. AM at the latest.
I've bought a power-inverter for the cigarette lighter, the 128 MB Memory Stick and a ton of floppies, so we're "packing for bear" with the digital camera.
We also have a pair of Motorola Talk-Abouts that work well for the trip out there.

I should be fine with the Sony 128 Mb stick and floppies (as a back-up), but do you have an adapter for the memory stick? 2.0 USB? My HP ZT1230 laptop screen is flaking out.:hammer:
Your laptop would be nice to have to see full-size pics of the days events as it goes down and to relieve any disk-space issues.
Thanks Senor Nuhklz! :burnout:

I have 2.0 USB but no adapter. I only have the cord for my camera which is an Olympus.

Weather.com and Yahoo both say showers for Hallsville on Saturday. Keep your fingers crossed.
Sixpipes...when are you going to make the decision as to whether to call it or not due to weather?
Keep us posted...

Weather.com is only showing a 20%-30% chance all day. That's pretty good odds that it won't.http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif

I'm with Sandman. The bigger issue would be wether or not the track is open. I have raced out there when there was drizzle occasionally and they would clean up the track in between the rain. I have also been out there when the rain had stopped, but the track had alot of water under it seeping up and making it impossible to dry on the big end. With the weather being dry the past week, I bet the track won't have a problem with seepage.
Besides........we could wait untill the last minute to cancel. It's not like we have other plans that day...pretty much all of us are planning to be there. I bet it won't be the end of the world if we decide at the last minute to cancel.

Agreed. I guess I'm just worried about the guys coming out from Louisiana and Arkansas. It would be a damn shame if they drive all this way only to find out that we cancelled it while they were on the road.

11th would be alot easier on me for sure, but this is not my clubs event :D
Dennis, I'm going to PM you my cell number. In the event that it is cancelled, PLEASE call me as soon as the decision is made so we can turn around our caravan! We have about 8 in it at this time. (had 9 but lost 1 due to stock rod failure)

With the gates opening at 11am, hopefully racing started by noon... if we get 3-4 hours in before the rain, that's not bad. Knowing H-ville, we should be able to get in plenty of runs in that timeframe.

So.......as it gets colder, what happens to the A/F ratio on these trucks? Does it go lean? i thought that the fuel curve went rich during the cold weather, and lean during the hot weather....
As you can see, lean/rich fuel curves is one thing I do not quite have a grasp on yet...

I think the stock tune takes timing out when its cold and adds timing when its warm.

That is one of the reasons our trucks will start to loose power when we hot lap them. In turn...this was why I bought that big arse fan to set in front of my truck between rounds;) .
From what I have been told, our computers can easily decide to add 3 degrees of timing in cold weather. I will be running one of my less agressive tunes Saturday...along with a full 100 octane rating in my tank. Not 99 octane. That's not good enough. 100 octane. I also will probably cut back on my boost(pulley combo).
I will have my weather station out there, so I will know what the Density Altitude is, but if it is like I have been reading the past few days...(56-175)...I won't need to get so agressive to make some good H.P.

The first year we finished up just before dark and packed up and left after dark. I'm not sure how it was last year, but I'm pretty sure it was the same.

If we're racing by 12:30pm or so, I cannot imagine being unable to finish before 4-5pm. I'd like to get 3-4 passes in, and then I will be happy. I can watch all you fast guys run. :)
