I have a knocking noise comeing from the Drivers side of the motor  I was on the way home from dinner with the folks and when we went to get on the hwy and gave it a little gas to get on The motor started to make a knocking noise and not sure if it's a valve or a exhaust leak. I am afraid to drive it anywere now and have KABOOM, I don't have the cash right now for a new motor so that is my big consurn. I am running the cold tune so that may have not caused the problem. We had to drive 40mph on the hwy and give it no gas. When you give it any throttle it knocks pretty good. We are gonna look at it tommorow in the daylight somemore and see if we see anything.

Just went over to NLOC and did a search and found it could be a piston slaping and they say it's no harm to the motor

Piston slap will go away after the motor is warm...or at least it should. It also sounds more like a diesel truck type tapping, not a knock.
It's impossible to diagnose over a monitor/keyboard, but I would not rule out rod knock. Something like this usually sounds worse (more audible) under more load, like when you give it gas.

Check your plugs
One may be loose - ready to POP

I have never changed the plugs myself and don't have the proper tools to change them or even to get to them. But I am going to do my best to get to them tommorow with the tools that I have to tighten them all up.

Every time you give it throttle it knocks, We got it into the garage and started looking around and did not see anything but when I re-started the motor it had a loud knocking noise on start up.

I too have a “noise or ticking sound” on the driver’s side. However, it only does it when you really accelerate hard on a slight incline or hill and then it goes away around 40 or 50 mph! (okay, ya’ll stop laughing at the female interpretation). Anyway, it doesn’t do it on flat ground. Trying to explain this to the dealer was quite amusing. Any suggestions on thoughts on what this could be? I’m going to be at the Fall Classic, weather permitting, and maybe someone can find a hill and drive the truck. :o

Loud knocking at idle is not good. :( Again, to one person a knock could be a "tap", to another it sounds like the block is coming apart, etc.
Take a 4' long vacuum line and run it from your ear to various parts of the motor. This is a poor man's engine stethoscope. You may even want to jack the front end up so you can get under it while its running. Find out if its on the top side of the motor, or the bottom side/oil pan. Does it sound like its coming from the valve cover? If it's more towards the engine block itself, then I suspect rod knock based on how you decribe it.

That motor always sounded beat hard. I thought I changed the plugs a few months ago? If so they should be fine. You can stick a metal rod or nail in the end of your vacuum line. When you touch it to a place on the motor you can hear a lot more detail. Hepefully you just chunked a piece of header gasket but that is more of a tick or pocketa pocketa noise.

We were looking under the motor this morning and found the problem. On the drivers side header were the name plate is welded on, One end of the plate is loose and there is a hole and that is were the ticking noise is coming form. We listened to the motor and it's not from the motor and then we jaked it up and found that. I am gong to go to the muffler shop around th corner tommorow and see if he can weld it shut till I get money to get the headers pulled and new gaskets put on.

Great news, Tyson. Obviously, the knock you were hearing is a "tick" in my book. :) Just another reason its so hard to decipher a noise without actually being there.
An exhaust leak is nothing compared to the potential alternative. Glad it is what it is!
