OK, Since I am the glutton for punishment for the next year, I need to to start the planning. I am figuring on making life a little easier and keeping a constant rotation very quarter. We will do central in the first month, east in the second month and west in the third. So, with that being said, we need to decide on venues (one venue per area, I have no plans to rotate venues, so once a venue is decided on, that's where we are going 4x during the year). Please provide some ideas on where you would like to meet and we'll get things settled.
I'm sure BoneDaddy's will stay on the schedule. If we want to keep the same venues so be it. I just want to gauge everyone's interest.

Many brave men have attempted to stick to a predetermined scheduled and failed. Your mission, should you decide to accept it, will be to rise above all the sniveling and immature remarks and stick to your guns. I personally think you should assign a Seargent at Arms over each location (West, Central, and East) to address all the crap you are going to catch. I will volunteer if you so decide.

If no one speaks up, I will conference with the elders of the club and we will decide where we will go each month and shove it down everyone's throats (how's that for political correctness??). I am not interested in negotiating every month. Make sure you like a particular venue when you suggest it. If we get multiples for a given area, it will be put to a vote in the members forum (a little perk for you supporting members) and the decision will be made that way. I want this to be as democratic as my dictatorship stronghold will allow. :bows
Dennis, I will be honored to go into battle with you. I would also like to draft Steve White, since he is pretty active as far as happenings with the western sub-group.

My only suggestion is that we throw in a "lunch" GTG every now and then. That's easier for me, at least, to make than the evening stuff. If I'm the minority of "1", then I understand. :)

The lunch things were a little more impromptu than planned. Generally a couple of us elected to go to lunch that morning. WE can attempt to plan some of these out a week or so beforehand and see how it goes.

I say we keep Bonedaddys as the usual north location. We keep Humperdinks as the usual central location and whatever is fine w/ me on the south side. IMO. http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/beerchug.gif

I say that Bonedaddy's is the usual central location (it's on Central expy)...or is Bonedaddy's the center of the universe?

I vote we eat at Quaker Steak and Lube on Peach St. I realize its a 20-24 drive to get here but its well worth it.. just think of all the newness you will experience up here.. lets make it the spring and summer meetings so that you can have nice cool air to run through your superchargers. The average high is 78. So think how nice that will be compared to the 90+ temps you normally have..

I vote we do all of the meetings at the Northwest highway area. What we have now is two seperate camps. The central location will repair this. Let's face it....nobody is going to drive from the west to eat at that sh!t hole in Richardson. And I don't see anyone driving from the North to eat nasty arse chicken wings in the west.
There are several good spots to eat in the Northwest highway area and it is darned near an even drive for all.

Rocks:beer: I agree 100% I enjoy going to the meetings but I will never drive from Fort Worth to go to Bonedaddys. When we have it at Hooters, the North Dallas guys never show. I dont blame them, it is a long drive. I vote for the Northwest Highway area.:tu:

It makes sense to concentrate in the Northwest Highway area. I'd make a few more meetings this way.

I vote for all meetings in the center of town like Rocks. We always lose folks going from one end of town the the other. Keep it central, keep it simple just like any other successful car club:tu: .

NW Hwy / I-35 is a good idea, as well, as it's a central location for all of TALON - lots of dining options for large groups in the area, too.
I don't mind traveling to the S. Arlington Hooter's. I've been there once last year for a TALON meet and plan on making Thursday's meet.

I also agree with the NW Highway location idea, as it's pretty central b/w Arlington and Plano/Richardson, but I don't see the Yanks giving up their precious Bonedaddy's.:d
It seems to me that there'd be a more consistent turnout from month to month, if it were held in a centralized location, but that's just me.
Whatever ya'll decide is cool. If I can make it, then I'll be there.:tu:

Add my name to the NW Highway location.
Bone Daddy's is awesome, but that place gets a little of our business from the spur of the moment type lunches anyway.
And for good reason.

OK, let me play devil's advocate a second. If everyone is voting for someplace central along NW highway, how come the attendance at Humperdinks the last few times has been consistently lower than Bonedaddys? I agree meetings at NW Hwy will be ideal, but the reality of the past is there has been some pretty crappy attendance there.
If we elect to go that route, please provide suggestion on restaurants. I hear the Lodge has some good food :d

That is an incorrect statement Tom. The last two times we went to Humperdinks, you where missing in action. The last meeting is the freshest on my mind, so I will speak of it at first. We had a very nice contengency from the west, along with a guest appearence from Wayne. Terry Hogg even showed up.
I have not made all the meetings either, but I did make the last three. Two at Humperdinks and one at Bonedaddy's. The Humperdinks meetings where larger than the Bonedaddy's meeting both times. I know that 3 months ago at the Humperdinks meeting, you had a football game to go to and cut out before the crowd arrived...maybe this is tarnishing your view a little.
I am not trying to bust your chops here, I just want to keep the record straight.

Perhaps just email the supporting members group ...

NWHWY is great for me - Its 10 min from work unlike BD's or S arlington -both an nearly hour away in traffic

Well, it is almost 5 PM and I still have a few things to finish before I can quit today. So it looks like I will be missing today's meeting. Nothing personal against the Arlington location. I have to drive between 1-1.5 hours to get to any of the locations. Just so everyone understands, I have no partiality to a site because it looks like I will be missing the last three meetings (east, central, and west) to close out the year anyway.

I say we make this into a supporting member issue. Out of the total supporting members, determine where everyone lives by separating them into three categories...East, Central, West....the majority get first choice, second gets second, third gets third.
This should stir everyone into a small uproar....:d

Well, from the sound of it everyone pretty much agrees that we should keep this along NW Hwy near Humperdink's in an attempt to keep the meetings centralized to everyone. This is fine, but now I need ideas for restaurants in the area, since it would probably best to alternate (I know I'll get sick of Hump's after a few months). I know of Humperdinks, Joe's Crab Shack, Pappas Steak House and everyone's favorite Pappa's BBQ. I'm not really sure of all the other restaurants out there though. Suggest some restaurants and I'll post up a poll in the members forum.
As a sidenote, for those of you that cannot live without BoneDaddy's (I am one of them) or Hooters, we will be setting up periodic lunch outings to go to BoneDaddy's for the northern guys and I'm sure the Arlington/Fort Worth guys can set up something in their neck of the woods. These venues are not in the central area everyone seems to want to keep the meetings at, but we can't just wipe them out of contention.
Anyway, post up. I may make a lunchtime trip out there today to chcek out what other restaurants are there.

The good thing about PaPa's is $1 beers, after about 3 or 4, the food is almost edible.
