Doug....I hope you don't mind this thread. I know it is not really Lightning related. This web sight is a legit sight. It was talked about on Bill O Reilly tonight. They are a volenteer group that is sending care packages to the troups in Iraq.

Here is the link if anyone wants to check it out. There are several ways to show support on the sight besides just money. If anyone has an issue with our troops, please just keep it to yourself. This sight is not a place to relive the flower child fantasy.

Rocks,
Once again you've done it!!We're on the same page. Just today in my daily meeting I was telling my employees how lonely this time of year gets to soldiers in foreign lands. Even tho you may be with hundreds of other troops,it the feeling of home sick and loneliness. How you hope so badly for something, anything from a love one or a letter "TO ANY SERVICE MEMBER".I know because Desert Shield/Storm 1 was short compared to this stint but the time was still long and tough to deal with especially if you're not getting mail.I salute you. :tu:

Well Said Derek.......:bows . That sight has ways you can email messages or even get care packages sent to a soldier you may know.

I can't help but think about how much it would suck to be over there during this time of year. Even more, i can't help but think about how much it would suck if one of those soldiers where my son. I feel real fortunate that he only has to drive 3 hours and be with his family.

It can make you think about how good we have it sometimes. Well, I am getting out of character now...must get back to being an ass...LOL.

Nice gesture Rocks...I can speak from experience how bad it sucked to be in a foreign land during the holidays as a young soldier....happened three times to me during my stint in the service.

Even if it's nothing more than a simple email to say you appreciate what they're doing, it's all appreciated.
