Half-Life 2 mutli player rocks!

I running a 3.0 cpu and a 6800Gt, the graphics are awsome.I have everything on max. The mutiplayer is great and I get no lag. I cant wait until some new mods come out/maps.Blows Doom 3 away! The next thing I am going to do is try to talk my wife in letting me put the computer next to the DLP HD big screen tv. the game supports 4:3 res! Should look out of this world.

My youngest is a Half-Life 2 addict. Best graphics and most detail I have ever seen on a computer game. My skill level is not that high and I have trouble using a keyboard so I'm sticking with Halo 2. :cool:

the graphics and physics kick a$$ in it, but like you mentioned...it needs some mods or something. i messed with it a couple of days and got bored playing hl2 or frustrated playing the new counter strike. i still perfer desert combat (a mod of bf1942). the next version is supposed to have 'hl2 like' graphics.http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/flthrow.gif

What dont you like about the new counter strike? That was the game back in the day!!

i didn't like having to purchase new weapons everytime i died. i also didn't like having to wait for everyone else on my team to die before i get to play again. and most of all...i don't like having to use steam to play online.

The hook is that its realistic and you have to use strategy. Unlike Q3 or UT where you can jump around with a rocket launcher and shoot at people's feet. In CS you can bait people into a trap, set up kill boxes, planting the bomb or having to defuse it also make it interesting. For instance you can be the last guy on your team and all you have to do is hold the CT's off long enough for the bomb to go off. Using a flashbang to clear a room is also awesome, you are rewarded for strategy not just storming a room guns blazing.. I have to admit though Desert Combat was also pretty fun but I think we're going back to CS!!

Yea, I could why so many people like it.I play Raven Shield quite a bit and I know the games are simialar.My lates phase is Realastic type games like Raven Shield.I been playing HL2 mutilplayer to because the GFX and physics are so beatifull on a DLP 60 inch screen :)

Dammit.. I have to wait.. I'm *HOPING* to get it for xmas, but that's a crapshoot... I can see one of the relatives seeing the DOOM3 box, and saying, "I'm not getting THAT!! Let's get him the 'Spongebob' game!!" :rll:

I loved the original HL, great game. I haven't tried CS yet, tho. ANd I just got the DOOM Coolector's Edition from Wally-World, and jazzed it up with the DOOMSDay plugins and Kickstart. 1180x1024 gaming with 3d sprites and environments! WOOHOO! :tu:

I got to play DOOM3 at QuakeCon, and enjoyed it, but that's my kind of game. I don't like the deathmatches much, and prefer to think some during the game. ;)

I'm with ya on that. I mean why the hell wouldnt they have night vision or have a freaking flashlight at the end of the gun. I mean having to walk around with the flashlight then switch to gun shoot the darkness then switch back. Very stupid...

No they wont - they designed the darkness as another adversary ....

SOme of the maps you are in total darkness with bad guys coming from all angles - the only light is the flash from thier guns and yours...

No they wont - they designed the darkness as another adversary ....

SOme of the maps you are in total darkness with bad guys coming from all angles - the only light is the flash from thier guns and yours...

I'm sure someone (not necessarily id, but they might if they get enough "feedback") will mod a weapon to carry a flashlight. I'ts just a matter of time. :tu:

I hated not being able to burn DVDs after installing Steam. It only took a couple of days to beat HL2 so I could uninstall it. I was disappointed with how short the single player was. I'll try multiplayer when I feel like messing with it.

Making it difficult is one thing but making it down right silly is another. The Demo is cool its actually chapter 1 and chapter 6 of the real game.

Sorry, that did seem to come from nowhere, didn't it? :)

I'm guessing that Steam replaced one of the drivers on my DVD burner, why I have no idea. It started burning really slow and timing Nero out, resulting in a coaster. I just uninstalled Steam and removed and reinstalled the drive to fix it, but I was just trying to fix it, not to investigate it. When I get my new office set up I'll reinstall it and actually figure out what it's changing.

Just finished HL2, bout 50 or so hours of total game play..I enjoyed it, was exciting game play.... The Gravity Gun in chapter 14 were you could pick up just about anything and throw it was the funnest part for me:banana:
