My gosh Doug..............alot of issues there. That would cause me to run scared:eek: .

I hope they get them all fixed up for you. It is a good thing that you know what to look for. I can just see Bankston letting someone drive off like that.

Good Luck with it all..........:tu:

I was up there a while back when someone was taking delivery of a silver 01 or 02 - they were circling with a grease pen all of the runs/bubbles in the paint. There were like 50, and that not an exaggeration.

Make sure you look at the TOP of the cab, especially in the channels.

Looks good after all the other **** though.. Glad you are thorough!

Need to take a pic w\mine and yours side by side to see the diff 2" shackles make...

Congrats Doug! 4 More years! 4 More years! knana

If you're talking about the latches, my 04 owner’s manual says they are the latch anchors for a child/baby seat. There is also one behind the seat on the floor. I’ve got the dots too, but don’t know what they are for. My days of baby car seats are long gone. Maybe it's so the child seat doesn’t rub the material?

Yep...you just never know when you might feel the urge to take your infant on a run down the quarter mile....

Yea, Doug, mine has those too. I have a theory about the dots - could they be related to an updated airbag system? Newer cars have seat sensors so that the passenger airbag isn't deployed in an accident if no one is sitting there.

Just a thought...

A friend of mine has a 2004 Lariat. There has to be weight on the seat for the sensor to activate. He sets groceries and other stuff in his passenger seat and it doesn't set the warning off.

I think the dots are just to let you know where the safety latches are.

Thats exactly what they are. I know some chevys have that and in the owners manual it says something about the dots being where the child safety latches are.

also doug the pic of the front bumper where it is scratched on both sides is cleary a sign that the transport driver drove the truck off the trailer to fast....

I check in all the new cars at my work and i see those exact scratches on some of the lower cars and trucks... If the person that checked the truck in did his job right it should be marked on the transport delivery ticket fromt he transporter.

I know when we get vettes in i go over them with fine tooth comb and anything i see gets written down soon as i see it.

I've personally seen Bankston grind the front fascia up and down the curbs to get the Lightnings in the "Show Off" area. They're also fond of adding their $1,000 cushion by installing window tinting and paint protection. My favorite saying was from their seasoned go-to man from the back room as I looked it over..."Don't worry, there isn't a dimple on it". Bottom line, I got much better offers in price elsewhere.

I would never buy anything from Bankston in Frisco. I went there 3 months ago to buy the new 2004 White L they had in stock.Without going into alot of details, I left angry with no L.. I am glad because I bought a new 2004 black L from another dealer the next day.So that same day Bankston called and left on my answring machine they had everything straighten out and for me to come back to buy the Lightning. I guess I was a jerkoff because I drove my new black L to Bankston for all they sales staff to see.ha hah.

Oh PS, I hate the sales pitch "What can I do today to earn your bussness." It not that is so bad but Jezz every kinda car dealer uses the line.

What's so unfortunate about this is that it's AUTONATION that's turned Bankston Ford into the place it is today. It used to be one of the best, before Sonny Morgan left and a succession of crappy GMs filled the slot. :( The only thing they have going for them now is their service department, and I still think it's based on *who* you get as a service writer.

Hell, when I thought about gettinga job at Bankston as a service writer, dear wife flat refused to let me do it: she didn't want Autonation screwing me over. :(

So, with the move to McKinney, I'm thinking it's time to move dealers, and the closest out there is Bob Tomes--anyone know about how good/bad he is??

Well - I picked up the 04 today

All the issues were fixed and I even found room in the garage for 2 Lightnings..
knana Funny thing is I wedged both trucks in and rearranged everything - Got out and pushed the garage door button - the door goes down and then right back up - then I relaize that something must be in the way - BUT the garage is so tight I cant get past the truck to go clear the problem - had to go around from the front.. LOL made me laugh - its only for a week though - Have a buyer for the 2000 - supposed to be gone next week...

The stock lightning will take some getting used to..

The whole concept of "preserving the warranty" escapes me.

Come on Doug......grow a pair. Give me a check for 10k and your truck for two weeks.......I'll give you back a truck that would truly make your mama proud to call you her son :D .

Congrats on the new truck Dougknana knana knana .

I plan to start a betting pool on when you break down and do your first performance mod. I have already taken, "within the first two months".

I hear you.....by the way...putting your own tune from the SCT package counts as a mod...;) .

I am actually jealous of your new truck. I can't tell you how tempted I have been to buy one to keep stock and in the garage for future use. It is killing me, knowing I can't afford two of these things.
