What is everyones opinion on these wheels? I am considering doing this, until i can save up for some Boyd's. Being in school leaves me with a limited budget.
There is a guy that will do the black w/ a hand polished lip for $360, and it takes about a day to get it done. Is that too steep of a price? Anyone recommend somewhere else? The guy has done some awesome work for others, so i know he stands behind his work.
Just wanted some other opinions. This will be going on a black 2000 Lightning.

Do you have any pics? or a place i can look at some pictures of his truck? Just want to get an idea of what it would look like without using PS.

I saw a truck that was a 02 that had just the spokes powdercoated black and left the lip. I am thinkin about that route with my 99

Hmm. I have mixed-feelings about the Red/Black rim combo. below.
I still don't think you can go wrong with chrome OEM replicas or those Boyd-Coddington Smoothie IIs like Aggie Mom's.:bows
But, the Black-on-Black combo. on Jacob's L looks very tough.
Just my $.02.

I was thinking about going that route and polishing the rest of the wheel, but i cant decide if that would look good or look cheesy.

That's what I want to do, as soon as I find some cheap '01-'02 wheels

black rims with polished lips have been around longer than anything for the domestic/truck world
But most imports do spray paint them...

I know, I Know, lets not start this again. I got the lecture before about some guy that had posted about his 1907 ford that had black wheels with a polished lip. I know that it has been around for a while, but I think that it is safe to say that it's at it highest popularity right now. Hater :nono: . First my HIDs suck and now my rims are old and crappy. We need to stop all this Black on Black hating.

I never said ur hid suck, and ur truck looks sweet... But im just saying it seems everycar know adays seems to have black rims with a silver lip. Almost to the point if you have stock rims you will be different... If the black rims werent so popular id do them, but im going a different route :tu:
