I'm frustrated with calling the local PD everytime I catch punk vandals messing with my neighbors or my own property.
This afternoon was no exception ...... call made at 2:55pm, follow up officer arrrived at 5:10 pm.
Granted, it wasn't a murder or anything, but I'll be taking a different stance ....
(1) Approach with .375 ..... shoot if needed.
(2) Approach with .375 ..... get flat on ground, Zip-tie hands and feet, wait for local PD.

Yeah, I'm crazy but I'm gonna make a statement weather I'm in jail for murder or not.

Why not get you a couple of badass dogs. Post a few "BAD DOG" signs. Then if they get mauled inside your fence you should be ok. Plus you won't have to feed the dogs that week. Win Win deal if you ask me.

Ever consider moving to a better neighborhood?

Blueoval do not do anything you mentioned. If something was to happen you be holding the bag. I would suggest getting a video camera and taping them. Then give it to police. They will be local kids that would be easy to track down for the police. And with the video tape they will get in trouble. 2 things would happen. The kids would stop or they go some where else since then know they get caught in your block.I know its hard to resist taking the law and your hands but its not worth it.

Mark,

Isn't the .375 a bit "drastic"? http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif That round's made for the African "Big 5". http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/bows.gif

Just be VERY careful when you bring lethal force to bear on any perps! http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/cool.gif

When I was a kid we would jack around in a creek that ran behind a row of houses. We would do stupid stuff like throwing water balloons on to peoples back porches or throw persimmons at steel storage sheds.

One time this old timer was sitting on his back porch with a double barrel with rock salt or something in it- he blasted our way and it stung like chit on our back side as we where tearing off down the creek. We never went back after that.

This guy up 2 houses and across the alley has cameras on the back of his house that would have caught a good angle of these dudes yesterday. The PD knows this, yet has failed to ask for them. http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/bash.gif

So the story goes, the same neighbor about 5 months ago caught 2 dudes trying to break into his back window of house. When he called the 911 folks he told them what was happening and said "get here quick, otherwise just contact the coroner".
The PD set up nets in between several houses to catch them because they were on bikes (Bicycles) and had gotten away before. http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/nono.gif

Yeah, I know I'm being a bit drastic. Frustration will make you do that.
I moved into this house as an "upgrade". Nicer homes, newer neighborhood, etc .......... guess I'll just have to accept that these forkin' little slime-balls are everywhere. http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/smflame.gif

How do you guys feel about the "Guardian Angels"? That seems to be one of many Hot Topics at Dallas City Hall. http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/confused.gif

I've got the same story when we used to throw rocks at the pigs at the local farm to hear them squeal.
Same old timer with the rock salt too, we were the ones squealing that day.
I did go back though a few years later for a job.

One of my customers has a pitbull they are getting rid of. It chews on stuff too much. It bit a while thru the led shielded drop wire that we use. :evil

I'm thinking maybe a good paint-ball rig is in order! http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/devil.gif Take approx. 100 of those paintballs and put them in the freezer for a couple hours. http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/rofl2.gif

I've never been hit with rock-salt from a shot-gun, but paint-balls can hurt, especially in winter! http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/cry.gif I've seen guys on our team get their goggles cracked from close-in shots.

Yep, those pit-bulls are mean! One of Regan's buddies had one. Chewed through the brake-lines on his truck and even an ENTIRE spare tire!

Funny thing is, one of his friend's over-the-calf socks came up missing. He found it a few days later in the back yard in a pile of dog-sh!t. The pit-bull ate it and actually "passed" it. http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gifhttp://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/rofl2.gif

Thought about dogs (no inclination to feed and take care of them), paintball crossed my mind as well.

Best to just keep the old digital camera handy and click as many pics as I can before putting a round into their gas tank or motor compartment.
I suspect a 375 will somewhat "injuire" a aluminum head. http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/devil.gif

Believe me, these aren't just simple pilphering acts. I've caught "teams" checking cars doors , back doors to homes and open garage doors.
Last summer one "team" had a homeless guy riding up & down the alleys on a bicycle. After a couple weeks of seeing his routine (Wednesday & Thursday afternoons), I filled a balloon with Fox urine and hit him with it.
Haven't see him since.
Yeah, I'm a hard nosed a$$hole, but if I can put this data together ......... why can't the local PD?

Mark, I've got a really nice home, in a really nice neighborhood, for sale. I'll cut you a deal, even. :d

I like the paintball idea... considering setting one up in my "tower" at the new house, so I can whack the neighborhood kids when they tresspass. :tu: Set one up with UV dyes, and maybe some anesthetic, that'll stop the little twerps.

I accidentally set off the alarm on the new house, and had a call from the alarm company within 5 minutes, and had a cop coming out 5 minutes after that--I followed him back to the house!! We had a talk, too, and that makes me feel pretty good about the response time from the cops up there.

Unfortunately, Mesquite police has a very poor reputation outside of that town, and it seems it's not much better inside. :( My dear great-aunt had a saying when it came to real estate: "The 3 most important things in real estate are 'Location, Location, and Location!'"

Time to move, I'd say, and count yourself lucky.

Somebody needs to invent a Claymore mine with paintballs instead of steel balls. The set up your Paintmores with the trip wires ...that would be cooolll!!

My dear great-aunt had a saying when it came to real estate: "The 3 most important things in real estate are 'Location, Location, and Location!'" For best "appreciation" that is True, True and True. http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Time to move, I'd say, and count yourself lucky. I'm leaning in that direction. However, I'll be looking outside Dallas county and one that I can re-model. Again, for the "ump-tenth" time. http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/bash.gif
