Went to Kennedale Sunday and got some numbers with the new monster box and predator tune...

Existing mods: Kooks Longtubes, highflow cats and magnaflow dual mufflers, 4lb lower, accufab TB, JDM CAI, 90mm M/A, E-fan, Rancho Traction Bars, 26" M/T ET streets

I spun just a little (not enough to have to let out) on every run except the last one where I feathered into the gas a little.

-------Run1---Run2---Run3---Run4
R/T----.194-- -.007---.187---.177
60'----1.855--1.832--1.862--1.790
1/8----8.211--8.206--8.263--8.220
MPH---83.73--83.36--83.36--82.77

Went to the Dyno today and pulled:

419 RWHP w/ 509 ftlbs and an extremely flat A/F of 12.4-12.3
(the other two runs were within 3 HP and 3 ftlbs of each other, and all runs were made back to back within 10-15 minutes in between)

I think those are good dyno numbers for the mods but it looks like my trap speeds are a little low...especially since I was used to seeing 84 MPH and 85-86 mph on a good day several months ago.

B.T.W. The new tune maxes out a 16 degs of timing no matter what the conditions are...

when i was just running a 6lb lower, race tune, no efan, truck tracks tbars, 28 inch slicks, and full exhaust with LT's and ran a 7.8 dont remember what the traps were.

With the kind of power I saw on the dyno, I'm thinking I should be in the high 7's. The only indicator that doesn't seem to look right is the trap speed. I ran almost 1 year ago in similar air temperatures and was running consistant 85+mph runs with the only difference being a new transmission and tune, and a few months before that I ran several 83.7mph's on just a 4lbs pulley, chip and CAI.

On a lot of older tunes, the tuners would set the maximum timing on the timing tables, but the ecm would continue to add several more degrees based on colder air. This is why so many people blew their motors when the weather started getting cooler. It is my understanding that my tune doesn't do this, and that 16degs is the maximum it can ever get no matter what. This is supposed be be safer, but now I'm wondering if this is having an undesirable effect on my cold weather performance.

4 bank tunes allow easier tunability. when people would peg their maf's the ecm would have no idea how much air the engine would be taking in and potentially run lean. when people starting making bigger maf's they were difficult to tune with the single bank chips. with the full 4 bank chip tuning can be done more accurately.
