I went to the Pistol Range this morning.

First time I've fired a handgun since 1994 or 95, can't remember exactly. In the late 80's early 90's I was up to my eyeballs in IPSC and probably fired a couple thousand rounds or more every single weekend. Then divorce, moved out of state, met new wife, had baby, etc. Shooting was just not a priority anymore.

Within an hour this morning I was feeling pretty good with it again. This was my best group of the morning. All shots fired standing, two hand hold, both eyes open.

Today, I went back to the pistol range, this time I took my wife. She has never been to a gun range before nor has she ever fired a pistol. To get her started, I showed her the basics and she used my grandfathers single action 22LR. It's a High Standard "Double Nine" and my grandfather taught my mother how to shoot with it when she was a young girl. My wife was pretty nervous at first but she did quite well. We discovered that she is a left handed shooter. :eek: This was her best group. Think in total she fired about 50 rounds.

I tried to get her to give a larger auto pistol a try but she wasn't ready and I didn't want her to feel pressured.

I also got a chance to try out my new toy, Glock 27 "super compact". This thing is mega small and packs quite a wallup. :D
For being such a tiny gun I was quite impressed with it's performance. This was a full mag of my defense ammo fired as fast as I could aquire a site picture.
