It was an uneventful holiday until 1:15AM Saturday morning. Some cheese dick bastard driving drunk busted a utility pole behind my house. There was a huge green glow from the arcing wires. Then the power, interenet, cable TV, and phone lines were out. The police and rescue came before I could give him a good ass kicking/dog mauling. So I worked by candle light and went to bed about 2AM. I figured the power would be back on by morning but this wasn't so. I woke up around 6AM and the house was 54 degrees from 72' previously. So I threw a log on the fire, got dressed with insulated coveralls and went by the site. They had set a new pole which isn't a night' progress IMO. I went to WH and had breakfast leaving a large tip to the waitress. I brought back 5 large coffee's for the TXU and cops working the site in the 20's degree weather. They were apreciative and I left them alone to get the job done. About 11AM the power came back on and all slowly returned to normal. There were about 4-600 homes out of power and utilities for that 10 hour period.

Then came Sunday and I got to play with my new AR build up. I took some old parts and some new parts and had Brian whip up a short 35.5" total 8.5lb hot, light and fast rifle. It uses an [Aimpoint] (http://www.aimpoint.com/o.o.i.s/5) red dot battle sight. They are the current manufacturer for the US Military and numerous tactical forces internationally. It is a very cool sight there is no eye relief or parallax issues inherent with most scopes. As long as you can see the dot on target you will hit it. It is also a both eyes open sight so there is essentially an unlimited field of view. Thanks to Brian for his fine work as usual and Christmas eve delivery:tu:

I am a little disapointed nobody brought me any Crown and I only got two Christmas cards from customers I sent out more than that. Even though I may have been drinking while filling them out:beer: . Here is my goal for my urban assault rifle http://www.cmmginc.com/vids/Beta_Dump_M2.mpg :D

Hmmm... I got me two bottles of crown, one of which a bottle of Special Reserve straight off the boat from Canuck Land, but my true one wish... The ONLY thing I wanted for Christmas, a card from Terry, never arrived.

Damn. Maybe next year.

It is a total custom rifle not a specific manufacturer. It is a Hogue float tube over a 16" barrel. Notice the green tipped stripper clip of tungsten core armor piercing rds:D .

In your opinion is it better to build one or buy one already done like a Colt or Bushmaster?

Colt is the devil Bush is good stuff. I like certain components so I have Brian build my rifles. For total accuracy a custom barrel will out perform a stock barrel. I like a JP single stage trigger most manufacturer custom rifles use a two stage bastard trigger.

Hey Beotch :) , I distinctly remember asking you for your address as I had a little somthing in the way of Christmas tidings to send you. :evil Guess it will have to wait until I get back over there for my spacers. (That is if I can ever get ahold of Stan to order some.)

Just sit back and enjoy the Beta mag video. I may have to curtail my drinking until I figure out where my burning esophagus is coming from. Kind of like acid reflux or Nexium maybe:hammer: . My addy and maps are on the website, you'll never make detective at this rate:D

I hear Bushmaster's are better cause you can interchange parts easier and its not proprietary stuff like the Colts.
