Well, it only took me a few hours, but now I have installed the 4# & 6# interchangeable pulley setup, changed the plugs, and programmed the computer with the Xcalibrator. I got all the parts from Terry down in D'ville, and he even loaned me the coorect tools for the pulley swap (I returned them today). Thanks, Terry!!!http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif
Although I have not made any dyno pulls with the new setup, and I have only tried the 4# pulley, I am impressed with the difference. No more "farting" on the 1-2 upshift, the engine actually revs to red-line (O.K., 100-150 rpm past red-line), and it definately feels much stronger. It's interesting however, that it won't shift into OD below 45mph now, and it definately holds onto each gear under light loads up to higher mph numbers than before, but it certainly doesn't bother me!
The only real problems I had, besides my fingers being too fat, were the bolts for the mounting hub were too long by 1/4 inch (I cut them with a ziz wheel), and I cross-threaded the first three threads of the boss for the coil bolt on the driver's side, 3rd from the front. That's the one under the fuel rail diaphram. After moving the fuel rail out of the way, I re-tapped the boss, and evreything is fine.
Tomorrow, I install my Moroso tranny pan! As soon as I get a replacement oil pressure gauge (the needle has fallen off of it!), I'll be installing my gauge pod and gauges. I love Christmas!!!http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/burnout.gif
