I've never even dreamt of something that big. All the info I have is what is posted on the link above.

I'm sure the info is there somewhere.

Gotta love the long-range, heavy-hitting rounds! http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/bows.gif I'm glad I kicked the "recoil" mental block.

It would be good to hunt Colorado/New Mexico/Arizona, Russia/Siberia, Canada, Mexico and South Africa.

Im confused - Whats the benefit of killing one of the biggest of a species on earth ?

To make sure that no more moose grow that big? Yep did that
To eat it - NO

I just dont get it ...

I would let a unique specimen of any kind live another day. Generic deers, birds and such need population management through legal hunting. It sucks that someone feels the need to kill the most extrordinary of a breed:rolleyes:

Dana,

I'd love nothing more than to hunt/fish Alaska, as well. Close family spent 18 mos.+ near Sitka, AK. on Craig Island while in the US Forest Svc.

Alaska rocks!

Doug/L8,

I'm sure that bull-moose fathered plenty of off-spring in his day. Nature's order in process, as I see it.

Hell, Oklahoma extended the deer rifle-hunting season to 3 weeks - which is almost a record - over population from deer! Deer-vehicle collisions are very frequent.

Mmm... that Tabasco/venison chili ensemble with my Jalapeno cornbread made a good dinner earlier in the week.http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/rofl2.gifhttp://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Take care gents,

Ronald

I agree on population control like deer hunting. As for natures order I don't think that counts for men with high powered rifles in trees hunting feeders. Natures order would be a bit more natural IMO. Using that logic we could go out and kill the stupid and ugly people writing it off as natures orderknana .

Natures order ?

Tell you what - You live in the woods on what you can dig up out there for a few months THEN you go up against THAT moose or any other with what you can find in the woods - Then Ill agree its Natures order...

Till then its rich folk blowiing thier lead load all over the country side

I have zero problem with hunting, as long as you eat what you kill, or in obvious self-defense (then its not hunting if you're defending yourself though). I just bought some property in rural N TX, and am moving that way as soon as my home sells. I guarantee that if my dog or son is outside and is attacked by wild coyotes, possum's, etc they are rednuck lunchmeat, by means of a .44 magnum.

I don't know where to start with this reply.

I'm all about ethical hunting and have let numerous deer walk, as well as bobcat/turkey/coyote.

To me, "nature's order", as I see it, is the Lords way of taking the kindest/sweetest of Grandmothers and newborn babies who have done nothing wrong/evil on this Earth and let the OJs and Scott Petersons of this world walk, so to speak.

I don't like it, it makes no sense, but that's the way life is. http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/cool.gif

The lord sayeth he shall not interfere with the will of man. Which is why there is murder and unfairness like such. We are all operating of our own free will.

I don't mind hunting, if not for keeping the herds controlled, then for keeping the "art" of hunting alive somewhere, in case it's ever really needed again.

However, killing something like those magnificent specimens is just wrong, because if they had the wherewithal to survive as long as they did, and the strength to get that large, then they *should* be allowed to live out their lives, and not end up on a website or on someone's wall as a trophy. I'd've rather seen them as photographs or videos of them in the wild, instead of dead meat.

I am sad. :(
