Coming back from San Antonio (approx 70-80 degrees outside) this weekend the check engine light came on. I read it with the SCT and I pulled 0125 (insufficient coolant temp for closed loop fuel ctrl). I cleared the code and tonight was the first time that I drove it again. Check engine light came on as I was heading back from the meeting tonight ( about 30 degrees outside). Checked it and read the same code. Got any ideas?

Hey Adam...............
Type the reason for the code you posted above in a Google search. You will come up with lots of clues.

After reading the description. My Audi had a similar issue. It was a bad O2 sensor or EGT I cant remember exactly.

Well now that I'm reading this it has me thinking. Sometimes when my truck is cold and I start it up it stumbles for a second before it catches. Its kind of like it starts then hiccups. After that its fine.

OK....I lied....more info
Indicates the ECT sensor has not achieved the required temperature level to enter closed loop operating conditions within a specified amount of time after starting engine.
Insufficient warm up time
Low engine coolant level
Leaking or stuck open thermostat
Malfunctioning ECT sensor
Now I am going surfing....:D

I anwered this last week. His Efan kit is running a 160 hypertech stat. Jim didn't change the warm up temp for this it is still at the stock 172 value. When it takes longer than 5 minutes to reach 172 the code sets. Sometimes a 160 will run 164-168. I just need to change it to 160 warm up temp value.:tu:

99-01 stock programs are 140' warm up temp but the 02-04's are 172 that is where all the issues come from. I thought you were in Germany or I would have given Steve your programming cable and such.
