Terry,
Installed the 255s and now it just dies and stumbles off idle, barely made it around the block this morning. Any ideas?

FYI, there isn't a chip in the truck.

No data, or engine lights. I had to go back and get the real truck to get to work this morning. No time to diagnose the problem.

Most fuel pumps aren't very efficient when they run backwards. :evil

Joking right?, I am pretty sure they can only go in one way.

The fuel lines (supply/return) are different sizes so you are OK there. Didn't know if there was a plug on the pumps or you had to splice into the existing wiring. I was just thinking if that happened to me, what would be the most likely cause and that's what I came up with. I really don't have a clue, but it does appear that you aren't getting a sufficient fuel supply.

Yup, just plug and play....or no play in this case.

I hate to drop the tank again. I have a fuel guage so I will do a little data logging tonight. Neighbors will love me again.

Fuel pumps will not affect the way a truck idles or runs. They are suppose to have check valve in them to prevent backflow in case one is not running. Other than install errors I can't think of anything mechanical. I would believe you to install them correctly. Those 4" rubber lines from the pumps could pop off if not clamped. Let me know what you find.

Hate to disagree with terry but I have read that the symptoms of the clamp coming off the stock pumps is similar to what Mark is expereincing

How are you disagreeing:confused: . My post referrs to the line coming off the pump as a possible cause.. There are numerous installation variables here but the size of the pump alone will have no affect on perfoormance below 4K rpm.

Well it's fixed...itself. It's almost like one of the pumps was vacuum locked.

I drove around last night and it ran like crap so I jumped on the it and it cleared itself up. Strange but I drove to work this morning and all is well.

Any comments, ideas?
