Somebody broke into Go_rila in Austin, TX last night. #1 son is moving to Austin for a few months so I loaned him the truck to haul some stuff. Broke the driver side window, damaged the driver door at the door lock and took the amp, head unit and equalizer. Looks like I'll be needing some stereo stuff. Terry, I might be needing that Kenwood head unit. I'll post pics when I get them. Not particularly upset.

.......................snip........... Not particularly upset.
I have to commend you on the example of maturity you show here. You know we have younger members here that would shoot up a whole darned parking lot over a stereo.....:rll: .
That really does suck Dennis. My son goes to school there and fortunately he gets to park in a secure student parking garage. At times I consider leaving my windows down and doors unlocked. I am thinking that maybe a thief will appreciate my being considerate so much that he will just steal what he wants without damaging my truck.

I feel your loss you can't hide in your garage forever. Sometimes you have to help family by placing your posessions in danger they would normally be sheltered from. My brothers truck which I drive now was broken into when he lived in Austin at his apt. They mangled both door handles then broke the window and took his head unit and sub box. The Kenwood is a feature packed radio. If you want a more basic unit I have an Alpine cd player I will sell shortly out of the blue truck CDA-7892. I am not sure if it does MP3's though, it says Media Expander on it.

Funny you asked that. When he was packing all his worldly possesions in his "economy vehicle"(...LOL...Honda Civic), we where joking about him needing a truck to hall all his crap back to UT. The key word here is JOKING:rll: .
To answer your question....when hell freezes over!!!

what part of austin if you don't mind me asking dennis?
rocks...let me know if your son is looking for roommates next year..I plan on moving south to the ghetto (off of riverside) and fear the L will be broken into, but I have to do it because it's so much cheaper.

That stinks.
I was talking to somone the other day about how sometimes it's kind of difficult to enjoy the Lightning because I'm always worried what someone might be doing to it while I'm inside some store.
But like Terry said, you can't hide in the garage forever.
I'm wonder how I'm going to feel about my first.

I was lucky in that the old 2000 was never broken into in 4 years. It was a little lower profile than my new 2004 though. I can only hope I will be as lucky this time....

Sorry to hear about that
I was just thinking that I had my 2000 just short of 5 years and never got in an accident and only got broken into once... Was thinking that was pretty good

Sixpipes must subscribe to the old proverb:
"If you understand perfectly, things are the way that they are, and if you don't understand at all, things are the way that they are!"
Peace, longsuffering, kindness . . . . . . . .

You're considered special now. Just like me ! It was past experiences that taught me not to leave valuables in my vehicles overnite. I've had radar detectors,CD's ,"spare" change stolen out of my '89 Mustang when I had it. It got broken into 3 times and stolen once. When my L got broken into ,the S.O.B searched all through my console and glove box but only got my brand new 4 year old jack that had never been used from under the seat. Thanks to Alpine I got a jack in its place tho. Theiving low life ba$+ard

Sucks to advise looking at the bright side, but it coulda been worse.......:( .
'Tis the world we live in, and Terry's right, all you can do is take reasonable precautions, and carry good insurance. Or leave it in the garage all the time and never enjoy it.
