I'd like to see Ford bring this product to market. Impressive numbers:

Curb weight 3,900 lbs, 6.4 L V-10, 605/501 HP/TQ 6-speed with limited-slip diff.

Uncle Rocks / aneurism pics can be found at: http://www.seriouswheels.com/top-Ford-Shelby-GR-1-Concept.htm http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

The last rumor I read is that this car, or very similar, will replace the Ford GT when production stops in 2006. (The GT will not meet Federal Crash Standards after that.)

I agree. It looks like the James Bond car to me.

Reminds me of the original Shelby Cobra Daytona with some Aston and some of the old 60's Coopers mixed in. Nothing new, just a rehashing/combination of the classic muscle car era.

But I am not complaining. I grew up when the 82 mustang GT was one of the new "hot" "fast" cars. That was a rattle trap of a car if I ever had one.
I love this era of muscle cars with class and driveability.

There was a discovery show on it - Designed by the same guy that did the GT - Inspired by the GT daytona coupe ....

They were Stainless Steel.- the problem with John Delorean was a massive coke habit that put him in debt
